Also the rule of thirds is applied by the way the light is on the right side of the photo. I also like how you captured it underneath the shade, because that way you can see the light against it that creates a neat angle.
C.H. It gives off a relaxing feel. Good job with the technical stuff- shutter speed, and aperture of course :)! Theres very little detail in this photo. The photo is a good rule of thirds, and the light bulb does grab my attention. I don't think that there is enough "stuff," or content, in the picture. However, I do have a suggestion- perhaps you could have tried using a more interesting lamp shade, like going to a lamp shop (They have those, right?) and taking different pictures and compositions. The colors are very warm and I guess the only thing you might would have changed was a little more brightness in the darker corners of the photo, but other than that it is a truly excellent shot.

DM-SPHSAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18859468.post-77860965228210474722008-11-06T09:00:00.000-06:002008-11-06T09:00:00.000-06:00The lighting in the background is nice. i like how...The lighting in the background is nice. i like how it slowly changes from dark to light, and how its kind of soft while the light bulb has a sharp edge giving it DOF. It is more interesting since its off to the side a little. Its like the sun! There is that really big dark spot up at the top of the picture which distracted me a little though. The dark spots and imperfections in the glass give it a really nice touch. I also like the monochrome look to it. It almost looks like a picture of one of the first light bulbs. It follows the rule of thirds and has a very good depth of field. The dim, fading light really adds to the character of the shot because it could have easily been brighter and overpowered the other aspects in the scene. The actual light bulb has an awesome look to it as well.
