Black History Month

Contributed by D Garrett

For this blog i thought i would represent black history month by taking a picture of a statue that represented what happened in the Civil Rights Movement. In this picture there was a police officer putting a dog on a African-American male. Back then whites thought they were superior over blacks, so they would use acts of violence against them. But since its black history month i thought it would be nice to show what happened back then.

Nice one. Statues are pretty difficult to photograph, but this one is a job well done. Did you try adjusting the levels a bit, I think that would bring out some contrast. The angle of your image makes it particularly interesting, since the man is almost falling down on the viewer.

The tones and perspective (but especially the perspective) make this a very worthwhile shot. Nicely done.
