Grief Cannot Come

Contributed by E Allen

I took this picture for our graveyard assignment at a really small cemetery near my house. I don't know exactly what it is i like about it. I do like the contrasting colors...and even though the tree is kind of interfering with the picture, i like it and think it gives the photo more to look at. I couldn't think of a name for this so i had to take Farmgirl's idea.

cool pic yo! i really like the tombstone that you chose b/c it has a really freaky engraving. i also like the way that you off centered the tombstone. the tree adds to the picture but i think it is more of the focus than the tombstone which im sure wasnt the case. overall good job tho

This is an excellent shot. The composition is really nice and I am wondering if you cropped it or if this was your original composition when you shot it. The rich brown of the leaves warm what would be a rather cold, grey picture. Aside from composition (and I don't think the tree detracts at all), there is the symbolism of the tree growing from the grave. Nice.

Thanks for the comment...and to answer your question, yes, i had to crop a significant amount out of this picture in order to get it the way i liked. :)
