I took the original photograph for this shot in the studio with a Nikon SLR. My objective was to create the fluidity of water in motion. I was just using a dasani bottle to pour water out as I took multiple frames. However. when I was adjusting the focus I used the bottle as a focal point. In turn I got several interesting closeup shots of the bottle opening. While I did get other interesting water in motion closeups I preferred this one because of its potential. I really liked the repetition of curves and wanted to take a photograph and make it look somewhat abstract. So I put it in index color mode and uploaded the color table of another composition. Then I overlayed the new layer over the original and I got this as the product, which was my intention. I named this composition Cobalt Groove because of the intensity of the blue plastic rim and the numerous grooves and rings that reflect the blues.

Interesting photoshop piece. I couldn't decide if it is a photoshoped piece or an oil painting, which makes it dynamic. Intersting.
That was Me. ^^^^^JWhite^^^^^
thanks john
I really like how the shot is lined up. It draws you into the composition instead of away
While I am not personally crazy about this composition I do really love the effects you achieve in your images that combine index colored images with photographic images. john's oil painting analogy was appropriate for parts of this image. I would keep pushing this technique.
Your technique is very impressive and I'd like to see other images you might produce along this vein. Love that BLUE! You should be complimented on your explanatory text, also. While I realize this is not an English class, good writing is always important. You do an excellent job of explaining your project.
