I took this picture while I was in Uganda, Africa on medical trip. I took this picture little bit ago, but just now found it and critiqued it in photoshop. I liked this shot because it showed the most emphasis on the child. It shows the child in a rolling field of Africa. I liked this shot also because it showed the texture in the clothes he is wearing and the dirt in them. His motion also creates a greater image. Hope you guys liked this shot.

I think the shot is way too contrasty for me (the lighting seems extremely harsh), and so it detracts from the softness of the subject matter and (what seems to be) the intended mood of the photo. Of course I don't know what you had to work with, but it seems like it would've been nice to get more of the environment in the shot, too. Nonetheless, the concept of the shot seems admirable, and the placement of the kid to the far left seems very appropriate as well (adds interest). I hope you enjoyed your stay in Uganda. I imagine it was incredible.
The composition of this shot pleases me. So many times we place the main object either in the center, or very close to the center. By placing the child so far to one side you create some tension. I like that he appears to be moving. I also like all the texture of the grass and the contrast between the child's black skin and the golden grass. It makes a great background. Lucky you to get to take photographs in Uganda!
wow this is a reallllly good shot...maybe tone the grass down just a bit but i loove it
