Untitled

Contributed by J Rosas

I took this pic over the brake. The theme that i was going for was a cold/dark feel. The objets that i picked were of some old dry wood. The wood is the object that is unfocused. The background is of a Jesus on a cross. I placed him in the middle of the dry wood so your eyes would move on to the cross. The thing that I like the most was the harder you look the more you find in the pic.

J.Rosas,

I agree that the more you look at it you do see more of the picture but I think the hotspots in the front are just to strong. I understand your trying to create a thought provoking picture here, but anyone looking at it may just quickly pass it over. I'm looking at it long because it's what we as photographers do , but the average viewer may just be confused and not spend the time to really look at it. Keep working at it, the best images are the ones that make the view say "oh wow, now I see it!".

I think you could rework this a bit. What happens when I look at this is that my eye wants to focus on the foreground and figure out just what the heck it is looking at, which is a shame, because the force of the photo is in the background. I do understand, I think, what you were trying to achieve, so maybe go back and work on it some more. If you want that stuff in the foreground, get it in focus so it is not a distraction. You have a good eye.
