For Amber Waves of...Green?

Contributed by C Mattox

Well I know that for my other two photos, I've had some cool backstory for how I wound up taking the shot. I don't even know what I was doing when I took this picture, but it was, like most (all?) of my pictures, taken in Wyoming. I really like the depth of this picture- I mean really, that mountain is something like 6 or 7 miles off- and the color.

this is one of those shots where the symetery of the mountan makes the shot. it's Bam, in your face. another cool thing is how, even though its not in focus, you can see the snow on the mountain. that gives the mountain more character. and then you have that little pond in the corner which helps to balance the piece and give it another interesting subject. in all, this shot looks like something one would see in a national geographic magazine or something. very professional.

Each picture that you take of Wyoming makes me want to visit it more and more.
This is a great shot of course Maddox. Keep up the good work.

I really like the composition for this picture, the way you aligned the mountain with the camera makes for a really interesting shot. Colors look good and its just a good shot, way to go.

I really love the depth in this picture. The colors between the grass and the mountains is very pretty as well.

i like the title first off...very clever. you dont really ever see that much grain in the country anymore. but i guess that's cuz we're really south...but besides the fact that this is totally irrelevant, i enjoy the immense dof. also the color pallet is nice on how it's limited.

This picture is very beautiful, the colors are awesome, but what I really love is how you can see where the clouds open up over the mountains and the sun is coming down. The clouds give the background great detail and depth.

i like how the mountain looks far away and the colors are very distinct.

I love the color contrast of the field and the mountain. The clouds above the mountin opening into the sky adds lots of depth to the picture.

i love the way that the shadows of the mountain are very disticnt. it's extremely hard to believe that the mountain is only 6or 7 miles away, but the photography is amazing(: great job, and go jags(:

When I read your summary of the background of this picture I couldn’t believe that the mountain was 7 miles away. It looks so close. I love the contrast of colors and the title; this is the ultimate vision of America. Beautiful!
