City Lights

Contributed by J Crocker

I took this photograph from the St. Vincent's Women's department car deck for the fast/slow project. I like the way the city lights turned out and the dragged out lights of the cars passing by. This was my favorite shot out of all the one's I took. Yeah, thats about it.

When I first saw this I was like ohh cool. The lighting and the dark sky make in impact. I don’t know what the subject was or even if there was one. It’s just another good night photo to me anyways. There is no interest or spark about it really. Be more creative is all I pretty much say about this

I really like this picture. I dont now what what kind of camera you are using but it captures motion very well without a blur. I like the way the sky changes color because of the city lights shining on it. I also like how the lights are shining like little pretty stars. It makes me feel pretty!

I really like how the lights blend into the darkness of the night. Overall, I think it was a good picture.

Notice the streaming lights from the cars on the road? The break lights and the front lights of the vehicles passing by is what i wanted to capture, thats the subject of the photo. And The camera used is a Canon XTI.

thanks for the comments!

Wow Jade, nice job on this night time shot. Your really good at taking these blurred shots of traffic. Anyways, keep it up.

Way to go jade, i like the composition in this a lot, the off centered main subject is really interesting and gives the shot a unique look.

I like this photo. The water coming down from the mountain pass is a great leading line, and I like how there is a reflection. The blurriness of the water reflection is very cool looking. This is a great photo.

Hmmm it is pretty good but I think you could improve it tremendously with some more another try. For one thing there is too much black sky that is not very interesting. I also wish the cars in the background were also streaked. The tick is to use a tripod and take lots of shots. then combine them to make one very cool shot. Anyway good job getting out and about with your camera and working hard to get good shots.

Omg! I absolutely love this picture. I have nothing bad to say about it. I can never get the cars to look the right way with movement. You did a great job. I also love the way that a few of the lights in the city stand out with that sparkle effect. It looks awesome!

yeah yeah yeah Myers. I know i could have, but i didn't feel like doing so. But thanks anyway. I own a tripod and used one for this shot. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to take multiples. Maybe next time

I like this shot. The sky balances the light of the city and creates a resting place for the eye. The blankness of the sky also subdues the image. It has nice color too b.t.w

Ah yes this is an awesome shot, and completely in keeping with your MO of photo taking. I especially like all the random little points of light strewn throughout the picture, and that most of them are different colors. Good job with the long exposure too

This picture is tight. I don’t think that there is a main subject but I like the scene. I like how the road curves across the whole picture, it keeps the viewer interested. Good job.
