Handful of color

Contributed by J Brinkerhoff

I took this picture using a handful of straws, brought them close over the light, held them in place and took the shots. I like how it is a more abstract viewing filled with colors. It is not a particularly strong piece, but it is here all the same.

I really like this because of all the different planes and the contrasted coloring of those planes. I also like the title.

wow thats a cool picture. i could not tell what those were at first. i did not know if they were straws or colored pencils. I really like the abstract idea of your picture. I like how the light is reflected around in this picture. you have two straws that are very bright white because of the light. Then you have multiple other straws that are different colors because of the lack or too much light. i wish u could see down deep into the straws more. i like how your hand is black and now shown so details are not taken away. Thats a cool picture keep up the good work.

I love this picture! The way that you can see through the straws and how it makes the straws look so thin and non-existent at the same time. I wish that the left side of the picture drew you into the picture more and it wasn't so dark on that side. Another thing that would also be really cool is if the colors on the straws were more intense and give a little umph into the picture.
