I took this picture for the "old" assignment. I really like the dilapidated, peeling paint. I did a bit of a levels adjustment, some yellow saturation and I de-saturated the blues and cyans. I also cropped in to focus on the post and slightly askew door

Great composition--it's almost like a collage of textures!

I like the many textures, but wish you had left out the sign at the top, and the numbers. They distract my eye from the rest of the composition.

I like these kind of pictures that show kinda old subject matter. they have a lot of character. this piece is good also in that the color scheme is appropriate for conveying its age. the yellow saturation step you took probably helped with that so good job there. the only suggestion I have is to maybe show the whole door. the door and address together would create a more welcoming picture that might remind the viewers of "grandma's house."

i love the composition and the textures. great use of the rule of thirds too but i wish there were more shadows or something to ad depth.

I really like this shot, it has a very nice Christenberry americana kind of feel to it. The textures are great. I don't much like the narrow crop and think that if you took out the black sign at the top it would improve the composition.

well its a different picture. i like how its an interesting subject. it looks like you put that white post in the picture with the computer. i like overall the yellow brick and how the white post contrast that. i do not like the screen door very much. i do not like how the reflection on the window. i like the words on the sighn and the numbers. it kinda makes me wonder what was written there. i dont like the plain ceiling. it is just a bit bland. i do like how the wall looks kinda messed up there in the top left hand corner. so overall great picture.

i really like this subject matter. I love that you chose to capture the beauty in something we might just normally walk by. I wish that the sign was either eliminated from the piece completely or the focus of the piece was on the sign. I really like the color scheme of the dark door versus the peeling paint versus the yellow brick, however the reflection of the sky on the door is extremely distracting and i wish that the texture of the brick and paint was the focus rather than my eye being drawn to the reflection on the screen door.
