Lost and Found

Contributed by E Schmelzle

I found this broken down car while trying to get myself lost one day. The car was really colorful with rust and blueness. I didn't get too close in fear that I might get some sort of disease by touching it.

This looks fabulous Evan. I really like the subject and your unusual vantage point really works to create a good composition. The color pallet is excellent and looks good on the blog. Great job!

This is a lovely photo. The rust really comes out and the fading of the blue is vibrant. Wonderfull shot.

I really like this photo, and the way that you chose to shoot this car. The composition is the reason the photo works, with the red rear light as the focal point. The license plate helps to move the viewer's eye around the picture, as well as the grainy rust on the car. Although the color is a strong aspect of the picture, I would be interested to see how it would look in black and white, in keeping with the old, faded look of the car. Overall, great shot.

I love this photograph. The contrast between the texture of the car and the gravel add interest to this photo. I love the colors the gray in the car is matched by the color of the rocks and there is even a blue tint to them as well. The line that is created by the truck is a great diagonal and moves the viewer's eye to the upper left corner. I almost wish that the bumper was included in the photo because it looks as if there is some interesting rust texture that would be nice.

I love the colors in this picture, and how you brought an artistic feel to something so ugly…
(I think it was probably a good decision to of not touched it)

This is a really great shot. The unusual angle really makes the picture. I also like the wide range of colors. The slight shadows make for a nice contrast in light. The contrast in texture between the gravel and the rusted car also contrast well with each other. Everything comes together to make a great image.

This is a cool, interesting photo. I like the perspective from above, the rule of thirds, and the lighting from the side. I like that you can see “Volkswagen” through the worn away engine cover. I like the old vintage feel, and I love Volkwagen bugs too.

This is a first rate photo. I can just imagine the other side of the license plate saying "voom". There is so much texture and color. Good job.

its a really good picture. the top right is a bit blown out and thats the only thing that doesnt bode well with me. the blue and rust are a nice contrast and show of age. the angle also is an aesthetic one in that you choose to hone in on one part of the vehicle as a opposed to the whole thing.

Cool Picture Evan. This shot really captured the age of the bug. I like all the rust and spots where the paint is coming off. I also like how the gravel on the ground has a bluish hue to it.
