Contributed by K Stewart I took this picture for the abstract assignment. I didn't do any levels adjustments or hue adjustments cause I actually figured out how to use my cameras manual settings

I love the colors in this picture. I'm not quite sure what it is, but i can guess that it is paper thats burned but i'm not sure. the only thing i see that could change is how the bottom is really dark and i think it would look better brighter. I also really like the grungy textures of this picture.
i really like the way you highlighted the interesting color in this object... i am not really sure what it is but i definitely like it. I do wish that the texture in the lower right corner would come out more. maybe it needs to be lighted just a tad in the lower right. cool photo though. aa sphs
I really like this picture...I kinda makes me think of a map thats all ripped up for some reason...the color contrast looks really nice aswell...This is a really nice picture overall but one thing i would have done would is put more light brown on the right side...
This is a pretty cool shot. I like the colour and the lighting, but I think that it would look better if you cropped it and left the bottom left out - it seems a little too white. Overall, I like it.
Like both of the people have said above i really like this photo. I want to say that it is a either bark, or it is burnt paper on a leaf. I like how the bark/paper is highlighted while the rock is darker. Overall this is a great picture. -Hunter
I like this picture because, it looks like something that was burned, but it kind of like paint that is chipped off, but its a great photo, its really good, great contrast, great exposure, and great quality.
I think you did a pretty good job with the abstract assignment. I have no clue as to what this could be. It reminds me of a dinosaur egg. I like it. -Jade
Very very abstract, I'll give you that. So much so that I would have no idea what was even going on if not for that little top right corner of background color. It gives it enough depth to make the shot interesting
I LOVE the texture you captured! The close proximity to the subject allows the viewer to really use their imagination. Maybe crop or clone stamp out the dark gray mark in the bottom left hand corner? The shadows and highlights are great; not too much of either. I also really like that the tears in the metal follow the rule of thirds, and that you get a little peek of the yellowed metal on the right side too, but it doesn't overpower the rock or whatever that is beneath it. Great job!!
This high school photoblog is the product of the photography students at Spain Park High School in Hoover, Al.
Students take turns posting one of their images along with a brief explanation each school day. The students also trade critiques with their peers from other schools around the country (see high school blog links below).
We are always looking to expand our participating schools. If your photography program starts a blog, email Mr. Myers so he can add your link to our growing list. emyers@hoover.k12.al.us
