Big City Miracle

Contributed by N Capps

I took this photo in New York City. I was standing on the ground, so in order to include as much of the buildings as possible; I ended up with this angle. I love the reflection on the building. To edit these I did curves adjustments, some levels adjustments, and smart sharpen filter. On a separate layer I adjusted the sky to make it more blue.

There are things about this shot that I really like, and things about it that I really don't like. I absolutely love the sky and the clouds. I think the adjustment to the sky looks really great. I also like the shape of the building and how there are many lines that lead my eye across the picture. Now, what I don't like. I hate the hot reflection area on the building. There's no detail and it's really distracting. It pretty much destroys an otherwise perfect image.

wow, for me this image is working. The most crucial element for me is the perpendicular jet trail cloud. It balances the image very well. The bright area on the building is not bothering me as much as Bryan. I actually think it is necessary, as it helps break up the geometry of the building and also ties the subject to its background. Two thumbs up, or as I will for now on use from time to time, TTU!

This photo is really great, but there are some part that I don't particularly like. I like how the building looks, everything on that works really well. I don't exactly think the sky looks as well as it could've. I think the diagonal line is distracting and I think the blue in the sky has an odd texture to it. Other than the sky, I really like this photo. Good job!

I like this photo mostly because the way you used the lighting on the building. I like how blue the sky looks and the lines on the building are spectacular. Also I like the angle the picture was taken at.

I love the angle because it gives the building an elongated look. I think that because the building is in focus and sharp and the clouds are blurry, it adds contrast and depth to the photo. The clouds don’t have a weird tint on them and neither does the reflection on the building. The unique angle and vertical lines of the building give this photo a very strong and visually appealing look. I like that the colors are very simple but stand out against each other. The only thing distracting that came to my attention was the sky was a little pixilated. But other than that I think it’s a really good picture. The thing I like most is that it gives off a strong and dependent feeling.

I really like this picture!! The white from the clouds reflects onto the building and at this angle it makes it look like he building goes on forever. Awesome Picture :)

p.s. I haven't seen you in forever! I've only seen you like once since the France trip :( look me up on facebook

I really like this Photo. There is a great contrast of lights a darks in the building. I also love that you were able to capture a great sky. The sky is great and not blown out at all and is a perfect background for the building. The only thing wrong for me is the white reflection of the building. And i'm assuming you probably couldn't do much about it so its not that huge of a deal. I like the photo though.

I think this could be in a magazine. It’s beautiful! They followed the rule of thirds nicely. The dark building stands out against the bright white and blue sky. The building is in great focus and the reflection of the clouds and other buildings on the glass turned out great. It’s simple, and just simply pleasing to look at.

I like the lighting in this photo. It is a good example of the use of leading lines. The sky is also interesting, especially that one cloud that makes a diagonal with the building. It's nice how the clouds reflects in the building's windows as well.
