Blue Waters

Contributed by M Tanner

I took this in my neighborhood close to my house. I really like the colors in the water and the silky motion of the water. I did not edit it because I thought it looked fine as it was.

I like this shot a lot - even more now that I know you did nothing to it. It is very atmospheric and has lots of motion and texture. Good one.

The coloring where the water is hitting is nice and so is the falling water. The glow coming out from the bottom gives it a surreal effect, but the rocks around it are almost in too sharp of focus so that the water and rocks don't blend in together. My suggestion to make the shot better would be to make the aperture a little larger to make the image more uniform and then use a slower shutter speed so that water is not transparent but more a stream.

I really love this picture.. It looks like something you would actually see in a brochure or something.. I'm assuming that there's a blue light or something shining down, cause you can see it's reflection on the water and such. Good job, I really love it.

This is a great picture. The effect of the water clashing with each other is magical. The rocks color appear green when wet, and when dry mostly grey. This is one of the best photos I have seen on the blog.

Hmm...Great Picture. I Like How you captured the blue color. I love the fact that you didn't change anything about this picture. I definitely like it all together. :)

I really like this shot. I like the light blue that is between the waterfall and the dark blue water. I also like the lighting in the top left corner. I think it would be cool though if you could add a little more lighting to the right though. -AM SPHS

I think its great how this photo isn't edited but it is so beautiful it feels like it could be. GREAT SHOT! It seems you really know how to work the camera and you really caught the glow and silky motion of the water. I love how you got the areas/siding with the rocks that frames the waterfall! Once again, this is a beautiful picture, like out of a magazine!

I like this picture. It has an cool water feeling. I also think this picture could use a couple adjustments though. The waterfall looks nice but as it hits the bottom it makes the picture look fake. it makes the water glow as in a movie. i would blur the bottom of the water so it would be as noticble and look so glowy.

This is a very nice shot. The imagery and color is brilliant. The blue contrasts very well with the rest of the rock behind it. All in all this a n excellent shot.

I like the color of the image i think it goes well together. I also like the light coming from the front. I like the way the yellow light and the blue water go together.

This picture is really good. There is excellent contrast with the color of the water and the light on the rock behind the waterfall. The thing that i like the most is the silky water. It looks as it was caught as it occurs in nature.

This is an interesting photo. The color is very unique, especially involving the water near the bottom. The blue lights are mesmerizing. The water has a slightly unnatural look, but overall it's a good photo.

I really love this shot. You captured the beautiful blue in the water perfectly. I love the silky quality where the waterfall hits the water below. I wish there had been beter lighting on the pool of water above, but overall a fantastic photo.

I really like this shot. It's really cool how the blue light spreads of the waterfall. it's hard to believe that you didn't edit this because it looks so good. i also really like how the water looks as it falls off the rocks. TW-SPHS

This image is very interesting. I like how the light hits the water making a blend of the two. That produce the bright reflection between the two. The texture is also one of the things that i liked about this image. Good work!

I really like this shot as well. I like the contrast between the sharpness of the rocks and the smoothness of the water. The blue light at the bottom where the waterfall hits the water creates a really cool effect. I agree though that you could have used a little more light in the top right corner like in the top left one. Good job overall.

To me, the blue light is like a double-edged sword. I like how it makes the falling water appear to be frozen into a sheet of glass. The icy effect is even better at the base, where the ice seems to spread outward from the point of impact. It brings X-Men 3 to mind, really. The downside to the light is it is positioned so that the rocks in the upper-left corner are tinted with blue along with the water. I think that this is the only reason why someone would be able to tell that you used a light. Still, the overall effect is very appealing. You did a good job setting up the shot, in regard to filling the frame and following the rule of thirds. I'll have to come find you to help me with any water shots I may need to do ;]

This picture is really cool! The blue lighting gives the picture a really neat appearance. It looks mystical. The focus in the picture is also really good. The water looks crisp and clear. The picture captures your attention and keeps it!

I really like this photo because of the silky motion as well. The lighting in this picture is really cool. I am very surprised that you did no editing, I think it turned out perfect! The contrast, lighting, and texture is very great. I do not think I would have made any changes.

I like the colors in this photo, the blue lights in the water and the blue reflections on the rocks. The element of composition used here is filling the frame. The focus in this picture is ok. I think that it would have been a nicer shot it the water was stopped in motion with the blue lights still how it is, that would have been really cool.
