Crabby

Contributed by L Hamby

I took this picture at the beach. I did a hue and saturation adjustment, and ran a sharpening filter. I also adjusted the shadow/highlight, and cropped in on it a little bit.

This is a fantastic picture! I love the beach and the ocean. It is great how you can see the different textures and patterns on the crab. I like that the sand is light in color because it makes it seem more tropical. The sand around here is dark and boring. The depth of field is good too! Nice job.

Nice shot. I love the sharp detail, especially the sand on the crab’s back and the pattern on its shell. Sometime’s with close-up shots the focus is in a weird place, but this shot has the focus right on the crab’s eye.
I also like the color scheme. The crap’s back is nearly the same color as the sand, but the red and yellow tones allow the crab to stand out. There isn’t a lot of variety in the colors, which helps to tie the image together. This was very well done.

I really like this picture. The fact you getting up close to the crab. The picture really shows the texture that is in this picture with the sand and the crab. I like how part of it is blurred too. Great job with the picture! I really like it!

I like the sharpness and details of this photo. I like how the crab is almost completely in focus besides its back leg and it makes it look larger being so close. The colors almost blend in, but the red color on the crab helps to contrast this. I get a relaxed, walking-on-the-beach feeling from this photo. Nice job!!

I like this photo. To me the focus on the eye of the crab is amazing. With the rest of the crab out of focus helps it a lot. Along with the sand stuck on the body of the crab helps. It shows that you really had to get close to the subject.

I like this photo. It's not extremely unique, but it does stand out. The pattern of on the crab's shell, and the texture of the sand makes the crab stand out. The cropping and fill the frame are good. I would have liked to see some water along with the crab, but overall it was a good photo.

I like this picture. It has very good detail to it. Also, i like the fact the eye of the crab is not in the certain yet grabs your attention. Also i like how the crab fits in with the sandy background, yet maintains the focus in the picture. JRieves SPHS

I like the image and how the crab is in focus but still goes with the background. I also like that you can see the pattern on the crabs back. I don't like that some parts of the crab got cut out of the picture. I also like that the crab is in the center and the main and only focus.

I like the image for a few reasons. The pattern on the crabs shell is very enticing and catches my eye. With the sand piled on, it adds texture, and I love the nice crisp feel to the picture. I agree with the comment above that it may be a little 'expected'. But overall, this is a great shot and interesting to look at. I totally see this hanging at someones beach condo!

This shot is incredible! I love how sharp the details are among the crab and it's face. I can't believe you got this close to the actual subject! I love how the crab's outer shell almost blends with the sand yet the it really pops from the crab's warm colors. This photo has such an emotional appeal because it really makes the viewer stop and actually look at it. I also like how the crab is centered in the photo and the claws are reaching outside the frame. Great job overall!

I really like the detail that is shown on the crab. It is absolutely stunning and the detail of the sand on the crabs back really makes it seam like the crab has just came out of the ocean. Everything about this photo just fits in perfectly.

You are someone i can realate to! i took pictures of crabs not too long ago as well, and their sweet. The crabs i took pictures of were maryland blue crabs, and i love this crab in your picture. I really like how you(intentionally of not) have the crab on the same color sand. I think it emphasizes the color reddish color. Overall, i think you have pretty good composition i would just suggest enhancing the contrast more though. I think it would give the picture more shadows. :]

I like this picture I think the picture was taken at a good angle. I like that it’s more focused on the center of the crab and it shows a bit of depth of field by having part of the background out of focus.
