The Fall

Contributed by A Oneil

The leaves are changing! This was just a pile in my driveway. I upped the saturation to make them pop.

I like how everything in your picture is in a warm fall color; not just the leaves but the bricks and the dirt as well. Nice job on making the leaves closest and farthest away out of focus. This picture doesn’t have one clear subject and this normally might bother me, but the narrow area of focus makes up for that. The lighting also looks very nice. The sunlight adds to the overall warmth of the image. This is very well done.

I like the colors of this picture a lot! It really caught my eye when scrolling through all of the other pictures. I love that the middle of this picture is in focus and the foreground and background are not. It’s just the right amount to create an appealing look without hurting the eye. The colors give a warm and friendly touch to the photo, and are by far my favorite part about this picture. I also like the line created by the bricks that leads the viewer’s eye through the picture. Overall I think this is a really great picture!

I really like the autumn theme to this picture! The leaves really stand out scattered throughout cement floor. Although this picture overall is good I think the darker leaves after the brick could have been cropped out, I don’t think it does anything for the picture.

I like your picture but I was a bit disappointed when I could not find your portfolio.

I like this photo it shows that fall is here because the leaves are falling off the trees. I think you could’ve adjusted your camera for better lighting just to make it a little brighter. I see the lines from the curb which is good. Other than what I said about the lighting it looks really good.

I agree with Erica, your image does feel very unified and there are no distractions. I also like the dof that you chose and the focus point works. It makes me want to go kick up some fallen leaves on a cool afternoon. Good job

I am a big fan of this picture. I love the fall colors and how well they stand out. I also like how you used the bricks as leading lines. they really make me focus on the important parts of the shot. I also agree with Erica about the leaves closest and farthest being out of focus. Overall, this is a great shot. TW-SP

Allie, I love this shot.I really love how the lighting is not too harsh, and it leaves a warm glow over the subjects in your picture. Also, the focus is really appropriate for this image--the leaves are crisp, and the background is blurry to make the leaves/bricks stand out even more. I don't think there should have been anymore of the scene in the shot because it would have taken away from the main focus of the image, but I do like how some concrete and dirt is showing towards the edges of the photo. It naturally frames the leaves. The overall mood of the photo makes me want to snuggle up in a fleece blanket and drink hot chocolate! The thought of fall and the changing of the leaves makes me feel all fuzzy inside. These are also some of my favorite combinations of colors. I absolutely love this photo! HH

This picture is really cool. At first it seems like just a random shot, but then when you look at it longer it just feels cheery. The lighting is perfect because the leaves are very bright, and these bright colors make the leaves seem more real. The exposure is also perfect because it looks like the leaves might have been blowing around when you took it, but you caught them at the right moment. This is an awesome picture!

This picture has great color contrast. The brightness of the leaves against the darker colors of the concrete and the bricks. The color go together very well. I like the way it starts blurry and then gets focused it and back to blurry. I liek hwo the leaves are on the ground and on top of the bricks. The main part is focused. I wouldnt change anything with this photo because it could make the photo looked photoshoped and fake. The picture is great!

This photo is very warming and enjoyable to look at, especially during this beautiful season. I think you really captured the feel of Fall! You did great work by upping the saturation of the leaves, they really do pop but are not too overwhelming compared to the foreground.

This picture all has the same colors into it which I like. It also has the fall theme. Creative idea for taking a picture.

I really like this photo because of the angle and the detail of the leaves . The color of the leaves really off set the color of the pavement and bricks making a cool looking effect. I also really like the warm effect in which the colors of the leaves set off. It really is a good photo to start off the fall season with!

I love this photo because of the fall colors in the leaves, bricks, and dirt. The narrow band of focus in the middle really adds to the overall effect of the picture. There is a bit of something green and blurry in the top right corner, maybe a leaf, that is rather distracting, but overall a very nice picture.

I think this photo is great for this time of year. It poses as a reminder that fall is here. I like the look of the leaves against the brick. It’s a unique shot that most people wouldn’t have seen. I like the colors of the leaves and the contrast in them. The upper right corner is a bit dark but overall this is a great picture. You did a wonderful job :)

I love the autumn colors in this photo!!! I like how the focus is on the middle leaves instead of the front ones. I like the colors in this photo because they give it a warm feeling. I get a positive yet relaxed emotion from this photo. It makes me want to go jump in a pile of leaves!!! Good job!

The detail in this picture is really enticing. I like the sharp focus up close and then it fades into the background. The bricks and mulch made good side objects that do not take away any affect from the leaves. Good job.
