Main Line

Contributed by T Ricchetti

I took this picture downtown B-ham. I really like how this picture turned out. I ran a couple of adjustments in Camera-Raw that really brought out some detail. I ran a black and white filter on it. I didn't like the color of the water main so I changed it back to color and it turned out pretty cool.

This photo is really good! I like the contrast between the black, white and brown. I agree that black and white wouldn't really work on this photo as well as color. I also like how different this photo is compared to other photos. It's really different. Great job! :)

This is a very interesting shot. The contrast is good, both is shading and in texture, and the composition is well done. It shows what a good photographer knows: that the most insignificant thing can be beautiful in its own way. Good job.

Wow! to me this is the best shot so far this year. Basically because it is a mundane subject but due to your great composition it has become much more. The great lines and details keep my eyes involved. I think your b/w color post work was a good decision. TTU!

I really love this picture for some reason. The subject is boring but you made it interesting. I like how you adjusted the colors, etc. Great job overall.

I really like this picture. Its a great shot. The colors go really well together & it's just so interesting because this is the kind of thing that you see everyday and don't pay much attention to, but for some reason it just pops out through this picture. Black and white wouldnt have looked as good because most of the color already is black & white, but it needs those few other colors to balance it out.

In this photo, I like how the cracks in he white paint move your eye around the picture. They also lead your eye from the (water) outward. It also has very good contrast. dn sphs

I really like this picture. At first I had no clue what I was looking at because it was so interesting and it took a second to realize that it was just cracks in the sidewalk. I love the detail. This type of picture is just one you could look at for some time and not get bored at. Wonderful.

I really like your composition in your photograph. I like the wide range of the texture in this image; it helps to led the eye around the image. I agree with the other comments, the contrast of the colors makes this image pop. Good job.

I like this photo because of the wonderful textures that were captured. The asphalt is lovely!
The cracks in the paint act almost as leading lines to draw the viewer's eye to the metal cap ( a nice touch. )

The paint is nice and stark white, which I found very pleasant to look at, especially with the crackly texture - speaking of which, the cracks make the paint almost look "parched" ... kind of ironic since it's snuggled up next to a water line, yeah?

I really like the texture in this photograph. It is a good contrast between the cracked, white line and the grainy, black ground. There is a good balance between the light and dark colors. I also like your composition and that you didn't have the water main at the center of the photo and because the white line is running diagonal through the photo. Good job.

In this photo I like how it makes you look at a road in a whole new perspective. The lighting that is being used is perfect; I feel it fits the mood of the picture. I like how even the small rocks in the road are in focus. All in all I like this photo :]
