I honestly can't remember what this is in the picture. I took it somewhere in Vestavia, by a swimming pool. I threw a black and white filter on it, and sharpened it a bit.

I like the big contrast of the darkness of the cracks and light areas of the top part. The crack lines make my eyes drawn to the focus more. In my opinion, I don't think any changes should be made.

I agree with M.C. with the cracks in the picture about how they draw my eye right to them. I like the extreme contrast in the picture. One thing I might have done is not have blown out the white in the top because that one line of black just seams just out of place. Nice shot overall.

I love the abstractness of this photo. I can't really tell what I'm looking at or where it is and I find that very cool. The only thing I might have done differently would be to crop that black pole out of the shot. It's slightly distracting and confuses the eye. Lovely contrast though, and the black and white filter was a very good decision.

I'd love to know what that is. Is looks like it could be part of a trash bag for some weird reason. I love the lighting in this picture but wish the subject (whatever it is) could be more evened out in the picture. SPHS AM

This picture definitely catches the eye. I like how sharp the sharp focus is on the cracks; that was well-done. The washed-out top seems to work as an effect, and combined with the black and white it gives this photo a very dramatic feel. Unfortunately, the effect is somewhat wasted because I don’t know what I’m looking at.

I really like this picture. I like all the various cracks that move me around the picture and that one little twig that makes you stop and stare at it trying to figure out what it is. I like how the background is blurred so more mystery to the object is added. One thing i would have done different is moved over to the right so more of that right side is showing in order to create a 1/3 crop. Overall its a really nice photo.

This picture is very interesting. I think you did a good job with depth of field. It really emphasizes the cracks. I also like the contrast. I do like the white in the top of the picture, but I think I would have used a levels adjustment to make it not so bright. Otherwise, I really like this.

I think this is a good photo. I am really attracted to the contrast from the top to the bottom. The cracks help my eye move around the picture. It is also really good that the focus is on the cracks and the background is blurred. TW-SPHS

this is a great photo! its so interesting. I like how the horizontal cracks draw the viewers eye side to side and back and fourth. The black and white eliminates the distraction that color would create. I love how you can't tell what it is. That is what keeps the viewers examining the piece. great work.

I really like this photo. I like the deep crevices in whatever that actually is. I think i like the mystery of what it is. It kind of looks a candle but then again maybe not so much.

I love the lines in this photograph are outstanding. There is also strong texture, almost a cold metal feeling. I like how I do not no what this photo is of, therefore I am guessing it was taken at a very unlikely perspective. It is interesting where the focus point in in this photo. The depth of field also adds a simple touch to the photograph.
