Coke is it

Contributed by B Johnson

When I took this, it looked like a pretty crappy shot I took to satisfy an assignment, which it was. I put it in PS and screwed with the curves and colors a bit and it turned into this. I'm ok with all the hotspots because it adds to the "vintage" feel to the bottles. Enjoy.

i think the composition looks good, but it looks a bit blown out. also i think maybe it would look a little better if the front bottle was turned a little more towards the lens.

I am really liking this photo. I wonder how crappy the original actually was...I definitely like the antique feel it has. The colors compliment each other well. The highlights are pretty bright but they do add to the picture by contrasting with the darks at the bottom and edges of the glasses. I also really like the background, even though it is not anything special. It doesn't distract me from the picture at all. And I like how sharp the first bottle is, and how the others just fade out. Great job!

like how all the bottles are blurred except the first coke bottle. I also like how all the bottles aren't lined up to be facing the same direction it looks like it wasn't a planned shot. I am impressed by how much detail is shown like the expiration dates on the first bottle. The only problem i have with the picture is the angle is generic. I feel like you could have done so much more with a side or top view of this shot instead of straight on.

I really like the colors and shadows of this picture. The placement of the bottles is very interesting and adds to depth to the image. Also I like how the bottles get darker and more blur the farther they are back. The color scheme of the bottles with the contrast of the red label is very cool along with the intricate detail in the bottles. I feel as though the "vintage" theme was what caught my attention and I enjoy this picture very much.

I like the idea of this photo and the vintage feel to the glass bottles, I think overall it's pretty good and really cool. However, I think you could work on the glare so that the first bottle isn't so bright and the back ones don't look as white and blurry.

This image caught my eye because of the vintage feel. I really love the essence it captures. Looking at this photo makes me feel like I could be in a 50's restaurant. It really does capture the vintage feel and I think you did an amazing job. :].

because i have a vintage aesthetic, i'm naturally drawn to this picture. i also love that you followed your instinct and dared to turn in something that's not generic. my only criticism is that the configuration of the bottles isn't symmetric but seems like it's intended to be. i wish more of the bottles showed on the left side but it's a little late for that now and that aside, i still love the shot.

I like the pictures color and how the colors make it look slightly older. I think it would have looked better if you turned the front cola bottle so that the word cola was facing the front.I like that the front bottle is the main focus but i also think that the other bottles should be a little less blurry.

This is a really great shot! I like that the bottles gradually get out of focus as you look further into the photo. The simplicity of the background and foreground also work well for this photo because it makes you focus on the subject. The only thing I noticed was that the upper corners are a little pixilated. But other than that I like this photo a lot!

i really like this "crappy shot you took to satisfy an assignment" haha. The colors nice. You have the red coca cola logo with the complementary green tint in the bottles. It creates nice contrast. The pyramid alignment of the bottles effectively help to lead the viewers eye backward. Nice Work Mr. Brian Johnson : )

This picture looks like it should be part of a Coca Cola add. I like the creativity behind this shot. I really like the contrasting of the colors. The greenish shade of the clear glass, the red of the Coke label and then the dark, almost black, of the table.

The lighting could be toned down a bit to add to the richness of the colors but other than that it’s great. Your sources of light, like where your light is coming from, are excellent.

Even though the bottles are empty this picture makes me thirsty. Very great shot!

This is so vintage/old school looking, it’s very unique. No one really takes pictures like these. I like how the glass coca cola bottles are aligned. Good aperture with the photo, it gives it more character. Using lines or even filling the frame is also good elements of composition. From looking at this I get a 50’s vibe.

I love the way the shot is focused so that the first bottle is so sharp, but the rest are really faded out. Also the colors are very interesting, but may be just a little too much on the bright side. But all in all I love this shot.

This is a great image! The light, and arrangement of the bottles caught my eye. When I look at this picture my eyes are lead from the bottom up. I think this is because the photo goes from dark, to very light as your eyes follow the bottles up. I think the composition of this image is very creative. The subject of this picture is very clear, and the horizontal placement of the bottles leads my eyes up the picture. I like how the one bottle in the middle is in clear focus, and the others that are placed behind it are in blur. It gives the picture more effect, a deep depth of field. What made you take this picture? What would you do differently if you could take this same picture over again? Great picture!

I LOVE the colors. I think you did really well with the lighting and i love being able to see the creases in the bottle.
the only thing that i would recommend is centering the photo to the left a little bit more, because i think right now it's a bit centered.

I really like the colors in this photo. The arrangement of the coke bottles really draws your eye in a zig-zag pattern throughout the photo. The only I thing I would say is that I think it would be stronger if the bottle in the front was not so centered. Otherwise, this is a really cool photo.

I love the antique feel of this photo. I also like the contrast between the green of the bottles and the red of the labels. Good job with photoshop.

you did an excellent job with making a unified vintage feel in the whole picture. and im sure the light adjustments you did also changed alot in this photo. i wish i could see the crappy original as well to compare because it does look like you did alot of work. definitly good a job though!

I really like this photo. I think the effects used in editing it added to the vintage feel of the photo. I think it would look better if the bottle in front was turned so you could see the whole coca cola logo.

This photo has both its high and low points. You did a great job of showing the red color on the label of the bottles, but there’s a lot of over exposure. It’s also hard to see the bottoms of the bottles because they blend in with the table. I do like the curves you can see on the bottles though. It adds a lot of shape to the picture. Overall, I think it would’ve been better with less exposure, but still a nice job.
