Fall Fun

Contributed by K Thagard

I took this photo of the Thanksgiving break. I wanted to take a picture that captured motion. I did a levels/curves adjustment to it. I also ran a smart sharpen filter on it as well. I like it overall.

I think this photo captures motion really well. I like how the leaves fall from one corner causing your eye to follow. Also, it's pretty cool how the leaves cover the model's head. They look headless which makes you think about the picture more and concentrate to find their head. It's a little blurry, but I see you already did a smart sharpen filter on it. The color is good, but it could use a little more contrast. Overall, good concept.

This picture reminds me of a hurricane. It captures motion really well. It carries my eyes around very well. The only thing I don't like is the top right corner. it feels a bit empty.

I like how dramatic it looks because of the lower amount of color. It really seems to capture & "freeze" the moment, while still giving it that sense of action and fast movement. However, I can't help but wonder what it would have looked like if it had HIGHER than usual contrast & color saturation! Good Job though!

I'm not sure I like this photo. I think that the diagonal line the leaves form draws my eye straight out of the photo. I know there's nothing you could do to fix that or plan for it, but I would like it more if the op right corner had a little more to it. Also, I think a little faster shutter speed would do more for the image, so the leaves would be more crisp and the model's hand wouldn't be blurred. I think the picture had strong possibilities but overall just wasn't great.

This photo is awesome. i just really like looking at it. You did an amazing job of capturing motion at the perfect time. I'm really just curious as to how you did this too. It makes me laugh when i think about it. It's like his head was blown off by the tremendous force of the leaves. His head is just gone. Good photo though...

this picture is really cute. it's a great motion picture and it looks really clear. the leaves look awesome, i dont know how you got it that clear. it would look better if that hand was not as blurry but i dont think there is anything you could have done. great picture.

I really like this picture. I love how it's right in the middle of the leaves being thrown in the air. Great job!

I like this picture. i like how the leaves are falling & that the picture is in motion. The only thing i dont like is that the person is backfacing the camera &their hand is burry. all in all this picture is pretty cool tho

I do not like this photo. It just seems like the fact that you were trying to rush and get you assignment done. All it looks like is that you had your younger sibling run while someone threw a bunch of leaves in the air.

This picture made me stop scrolling down the page. It really looks like this kid’s head exploded and turned into leaves.
The picture looks really nice, there is little to critique.
The placement of the kid, the way the leaves are all up in the air look really cool.
This picture is overall very good

I love how this picture captures the motion of autumn so well. But I'm not so sure whether I like that the model's head is hidden. Although that part is growing on me. All in all its a great picture.

I really like the effect that the photo gives off with the leaves and the wind. It seems like the shutter speed was set at a good speed to create a really cool effect for the photo. I also like how the color of the leaves and the color of the jacket offset each other.

I think you captured the motion in this picture well. I like how the model is in the bottom left hand of the picture. I wish that the model's head was visible and that their hand was not so blurred. But the sharpness of the leaves is great you caught it at just the right moment. Good job overall.

This shot seems to draw you into it due to the contrasting amounts of blur on the leaves as some are seemingly "frozen" while others are very much blurred. The only suggestion I would have made would be to have gotten more of the leaves, but that is really only a small detail as the shot looks just fine as it is. Technically, the shot is perfect due to the fact that the background does not distract your eye at all from the rest of the shot. Good job!

This photo is interesting, you can see a lot of things that are in action in this photo. i like how a really plain background (grass and what looks like a bush) is turned into something exciting through the use of the leaves as a main subject makes it much more exciting to look at. I like the Curves adjustment, it left a interesting black color in some of the leaves toward the top that adds some extra layering to the photo.
Vey good job.
