Steamboat

Contributed by N Capps

I took this picture in Steamboat Springs, CO. The sky was completely washed out and the mountain disappeared; so put another sky behind the mountains. I sharpened the photo and adjusted the curves. Overall I think it turned out good.

This is a very good photo! Technically nothing more could be done as you have all of the shot in focus. Compositionally, the shot is superb as well because there are multiple colors and lines through the mountains leading your eye around. The only suggestion I would make is maybe to lighten up the shadows in the middle right and left, but other than that the shot is amazing.

I like how the picture was captured. The colors go with each other very well. The sky that you put looks much better even if i didn't see the first one. I also like the mountains, their reflection in the water made them more valuable. The adjustment that you did for the picture also made it more valuable. N Capps you have a talent on capturing Good Job !!

This is a very good shot! The clouds in the top left seem a bit too white/bright. The water seems a bit too bright at the bottom of the picture too. Other than that, Great shot!

I love this picture. The exposure is perfect. I love the dark reflection in the water the fades slowly away into white. It looks as though the mountains go on forever. They're beautiful. This picture is so serene and just very pretty. Good job! ceg- sphs.

Wow this is an amazing landscape. The scenery is truly breathtaking. Your quick editing looks flawless and very natural. I really like the depth in this photo and the unity among the entire scene. I think this is different from the typical "object" photograph and I like the direction you went. I also like how this was taken during the day. It really shows the contrasts in light and adds to the shot. Gorgeous pic overall and and great job on your editing.

This photo is great. The image is very sharp and a perfect exposure. I think changing the sky was probably a very good idea, and the sky you chose was perfect. the colors draw your eye from the bottom to the top. Good job.

I am a big fan of landscapes and this one really caught my eye. I feel like I am standing right there and looking at this. The color scheme is fantastic and really complements all the other colors. I love how the reflections of the mountains are in the water and then fade away to white water. You did a great job replacing the sky with a new one, I think that is what makes the picture so realistic. Fantastic job!

This photo looks absolutely amazing. You can not even tell that the sky has been replaced it all looks so natural. I also like the depth that the sky adds to the photo. I also like how the water looks at the bottom of the image it greats a snowy effect that goes along with the mountains!

I really like this picture because of all the color involved and how it all works together. I also think they did a good job on the sky and making it to were you can see the mountains with the new sky and you cant tell that its a different background. I also like how the images depth and how it makes you look farther back in the image. I also like the reflection of the hills and mountains in the water.

This is a great landscape shot. I like how there is a fade in the water that leads you in, it is almost like a gradient fade into the picture. The photo has great balance to it. I also like how the mountains reflect into the water. Nice photo. dn sphs

oOoOoO. This is the kind of place that I think of when I cease to pay attention in math...I want to go here! Nichole, wonderful job capturing this truly beautiful scene. I love the clouds how they lead into the blue sky, and the blur of the mountains right below the blue sky. I love the water at the bottom and how it fades to black, I love the fact that it looks like a painting. Definetely something I could see Bob Ross doing...

This is an amazing photo. I can't find anything wrong with it at all. It is just appealing to look at, and everything is in perfect focus. I love the slight reflection on the water. Even though its rippled it still appears very crisp. Great job on this one.

I really like this image. It is a beautiful image. The panorama allows us to really see the beauty of the landscape. I like how you captured the reflection of the top of the mountains in the water. The composition is done very well. There is not a lot to say about this image, except that is a beautiful landscape and the colors are beautiful. You did an excellent job capturing the true beauty of nature.

WOW. I love the nice tone and contrast of colors; it really creates a serene mood for this picture. I really like how detailed the picture is, and you did a good job replacing the sky as well.

The thing that I like about this picture is the way that the very white reflection gently “washes out” the bottom edge of the photo. I also like how the mountains closer to the foreground really seem to take on one color, and the mountains further into background seem to take on another, more like the sky. They really let the colors gently fade from the warmer pallet to the cooler pallet of the sky. I also like the bluer hue in the upper-right-hand corner, and the white in the upper-left-hand corner.

This photo looks great. I love landscape photos and this is one of my favorites. I really like how the mountains closer to us take a dark color while the ones farther away are white with snow. I think the sky in this photo makes it look very interesting. The color and contrast of this photo is brilliant. Overall, this is a great shot. - TW - SPHS

This is an awesome photo, I literally cant find any faults to talk about. The contrast of the picture is awesome, and the lines of the mountains lead your eyes into the blue sky and the water. TC-SPHS

This picture is very calming, and it looks like it would be in a national geographic magazine or something. I really like how the sky is light then it fades dark into the mountains get dark, and again turning light into the water. Excellent picture!

Wow! This looks more like a painting than an actual picture! Normally I’m not a huge fan of altering pictures with photoshop, but it really works for this picture. I wouldn’t have been able to tell, had I not read your description. It is composed beautifully and it fills the frame without being overwhelming. I love the slight reflection as well as how it gradually fades out to almost white! It truly is amazing! (:

This picture is amazing! It looks like someone actually drew this. I love how the clouds are washed out and the water is somewhat white towards the end of the picture. The colors in this picture blend very well together, and not one color stands out more than another. Very good photo.
