Sunset Overlooking 280

Contributed by C Kent

This is a picture that I took just for fun. I really like the view of 280, where you can see everything, and I also liked that I got there at the perfect time! In PhotoShop, I clone-stamped out an ugly billboard in the middle of the picture, and I think it turned out really good overall!

This image could have been stamped a little better. THe Sunset is nice, but I think that the view could have been better. Maybe if it was from a different spot.

Chris, I am sorry, but you completely destroyed this shot with your clone stamping. While you might have gotten there at the perfect time, you have ruined any chance of getting "the shot". Also, your focal point is in the wrong spot, which takes away from the over all composition of your picture. Nice try, but maybe you should take your picture from a different location next time.

It took a while (I was focusing on the bent power lines at first), but now I see what the previous comments are saying. Aside from that bad spot, this is a pretty good shot; you really did get there at the right time. I believe that it would have been better to crop out the right-hand half of the photo, even after clone-stamping. You have to be more conservative with the clone-stamp tool.

I like this photo alot. The sun setting in the background looks perfect, with the orange glow stretching out into the sky. The power lines really bring you into the image as they fade into the background. The picture is also has good balance, with the horizon directly in the middle. dn sphs

I really like this photo. I love the way the power lines are going across the top. I also really like how the horizon looks with the sun barely over it and the clouds in the corner. I cant really find anything wrong with this photo so great work!

Chris, I'm gonna be strait with you dude, this is awful. You've had some great panos earlier this year, but this really isn't the work of a second year student. You took an extremely lazy way out of "fixing" this shot. Sometimes, the place just isn't good and no amount of PS work will change that, and I think that's what's goin' on here. Duplicating half of the picture is something my mother wouldn't even do. C'mon dude, I'm just bein' honest. You gotta have the initiative to take a good shot. The post on the left side is really distracting. While the power lines do make great lines for your eyes to follow, they're too short on the left side, and they're screwed up by the clone stamp and too fake. The identical hedges and building are unacceptable dude. Use your judgment, take the initiative, put in the work, and mebee you'll get some good stuff. Keep shootin'.

Wow. I don't think you could have done a more horrible job with the clone stamp. I have seen many amazing photos on this blog, but this just doesnt even qualify as "good".

This is a very beautiful photo. It's at a great spot. The time of the shot was a great decision. You also did a great job with the clone stamping. I can't eve tell a billboard was ever there. I never though 280 could look so beautiful.

Am sphs sunset over looking 280

this photo is good but it also has some problems, i like the way you made it look like you took this pic in the country side but its in 280

Im agreeing with everyone else with the horrible job at the clone stamping. The lines are supposed to make your eyes go somewhere that has purpose and will make you think. But in this picture, the viewer will think... man why did the photographer duplicate the building and shrubbery. I do have to say the sunset is nice, but the pole to the left is just distracting. It wouldve made it better if you clone stamped out the lines and just cropped the picture to focus on the sunset/greenery underneath.

The colors of this photo are what really caught my attention. I like how this has a widescreen affect. It’s a little too dark; it would have been easier to figure out what the picture is. Elements of composition would be filling the frames perhaps. But really great photo.

This is a creative idea for a photo. I think the photo could be lightened and saturated a bit to enhance the colors of the sunset. The darkness makes it appear sort of blurry but that could be just me. I like the green at the base of the photo and then the power lines that run diagonally through the shot. It’s a great idea; just some minor twerks to better it would be awesome!
Great shot!

i don't think this is your best. The clone stamp really messed up alot in this. Im really curious to know what the billboard looked like. i would rather there be a billboard than smudgy and blurry spaces where it was obvious that you either clone stamped it or weren't in focus. the sunset is pretty though but the clonestamp kills it for me.
