Window on the World

Contributed by A McComb

I took this picture in a field where a barn had recently been torn down. I was walking over scattered insulation and trying to avoid rusty nails when I saw this window. I think the flattened earth beneath the pane has a unique and unexpected appearance. I applied a major levels adjustment as well as heightened the contrast.

I love this photo Amy. I know I criticized the lines on it at first and how you should have put the line in front of the feet perfectly horizontal but I can see why you left it. I Like the crispness of the shot and it spikes my curiosity.

I absolutely love this photography, Amy. At first I was so intrigued by it because it almost seems as if there is water underneath the window, the flattened plants have a moving-under-water effect, at least for me. I think the wood is beautiful and does a great job of moving the eye through the photo. I also like the peek of the shoes, enough to catch my attention and curiosity.

I love this picture. It is a really cool perspective and a creative shot all around. I also really like the color and how the green really stands out.

Amy, I really like this photo. I think you did a really good job with the angle on this shot. It kind of confuses me and makes me curious as to where you took this. I also think the shoes are cute in this photo! I really like how everything is decaying above the grass, and then the plants are very green and colorful. Also the lines from the window panes makes the shot very unique. I really like this picture.

I think this photo is really interesting. The colors caught my attention and the angles are really great. I also think the green works really well in this photo and the details in the wood is really cool. The only thing i could say for a suggestion is that I think that this photo would have been better without your shoes. The color works well, but I think the photo would be fine without them and could be removed by cloning. Great picture though! :)

I really really like this picture amy! Its very intriguing. The lines and textures are very visually interesting. you did a great job with the color, keeping the darker tones to make it kindve gritty. Overall very interesting! great shot.

I love the lines in this photo! I like how the whole scene seems to be in focus, but my eyes are drawn to the shoes. I love the colors in this photo and the dark parts of the wood give it texture. I get a relaxed feeling from this photo like I am on a walk or adventure. Nice job!!

This piece has a very surreal feel to it that I really like. Nice and interesting work.

I love all the elements of this photograph. There are so many places your eye is led to around the photograph, the color of the grass, the lines of the wood and your shoes. Technically the shot is perfect as well. Very good job!

I really like this picture. The lines do a wonderful job of leadin' the eyes all around, and the green, being one of the only colors, does a good job drawing attention to the window.

i love love love this picture amy!the color of the things under the window really stands out in contrast to all the brown and wood in the rest of it. i also really like the tips of your shoes in the bottom edge of the photo. it gives it more personality.

I really like the concept of this photo. I like that the window outlines the rock and grass. I also like the feet because I think they add something to the concept. The colors are great and really make the picture seem alive. LM-SPHS

This is an excellent photo. I like how it gives that dark world feeling but if you look threw the window there is a better place. The color of the wood really brings out the grass. The condensation on the windows also looks very good. Nice job.

This is a really nice photo. It's a little dark in a few spots for me, but that's just my opinion. The shoes coming into the photo really add something special that makes in unique. It has a nice worn out feeling. Great job!

I really like all the overlapping bits in this photo. (: The colours are very pleasant and mellow, and I really love the "view" from the window ... haha. It's definitely not something you see every day !
At first I didn't like the shoes and thought they were distracting, but now I think they're helpful in explaining exactly what angle we're looking at the window from. Great shot. :D

This is a very unique photo. The old wood and rusty nails show that this place is very unkept. The little window is a little bit of a hidden gem in all of the filth. I also think the shoes give a little more to the picture.

I absolutely like this photo! I love how you combined darker colors with brighter ones. Off course as always the brighter color(the grass) will stand out making the shot very intriguing! Another thing i really liked was the angles shown all throughout the image made my eyes <.<^.^v.v>.> go all around the photo. The shoes are not to my preference but It also make the image a little more interesting so i got no complaints x] wait.. are those canvas o.o? anyways overall this picture is one of many of the great ones i have seen so far! Keep up the great work!..but really are those canvas .-.? eheh -MC SPHS

i really love this picture. i love how sharp it is and all the leading lines in the picture. usually, i don't like little items poking out from the sides, but i think that the converses on the bottom give the picture a better look. and the wood and grass area contrast really well.

I really like this photo! The way the wood gives off that old worn look, and how there are two differant types of wood in the photo. Obviously the feet at the bottom is a good idea and the way that the window looks like it has water under it. Its just a great photo, good work!

I enjoy this picture quite a bit. It’s very unique and has a lot of characteristic to it. You did a great job of upping the contrast; I think it enhances the photo a lot. I like how you also captured your feet in the photo. It adds a certain feel to the pictures; like you never know what lies beneath your feet. I think this is a wonderful shot. It’s very creative and “outside the box.” Good job!
