Already Spring?

Contributed by L Hamby

I took this picture with the dead, dying, and dormant assignment in mind. I adjusted the shadow/highlight and it made the photo look warmer, and it made the yellow in the flower stand out more. I also sharpened it, and cropped it in some.

This image really attracting and i really like it because i like how you focused on the dead flower because that's why you you chose to take this image. even if the flower is dead the color yellow make stand out more as you said. you did really good job in cropping it and sharpening it.

This is an interesting image. I really like how the only thing in focus is the flower. Not only is the flower in sharp focus it also is a very vibrant yellow to bring it out of the background even more. I also like how the flower is facing the ground and is practically dead, unlike most pictures of flowers.
So, all in all this is an awesome picture and also it has a clever title.

I like how you captured this picture. Its interesting and beautiful and i like it. With the bulb being on the third line adds even more to this.

I think you picked a good subject, but my eye is not drawn to any specific part of the image because the color in the flower is so similar to some other parts of the image that aren't in focus. i think it might look a little better if you cropped in on it a bit.

This picture is very nice. I like the colors and the use of rule of thirds. I like the focus of the flower and its vibrant color. the only problem with this picture is its kind of sad. The flower is facing the ground, but that was the assignment. So good job

I like this photo a lot. I like that the yellow of the flower is the only thing in focus and yet it is also slightly out of focus it looks like. I also like that the background is all brown and looks like winter, yet the flower gives you hope that spring is on the horizon. Great job!

I think this is a lovely picture. I like that only the blossom of the flower is in focus because it gives the image a sort of three dimensional feel, it seems like the flower is hanging out of the photo. The colors and composition are nice as well. My eye first travels up the blades of grass and then curves and comes forward resting at the blossom, the main focal point. Overall, a charming little subject and a charming little image.

The thing that drew me to this picture is the colors present in it. The yellow is very bright and friendly, and so is the green! however, the background is pretty faded, and dull, which is a very nice contrast to the foreground!

I really like this. Usually have stuff that much out of focus is too much but i think it works for this. I love how only the flower is in focus and it creates a contrast of thins in focus and not in focus. I also like ow the background seems to blur away the further you get back. It creates a great sense of d space. Good job.

I like the idea behind this shot a lot. The daffodil is the only thing in focus and Depth of Field is used very well here. The only thing I would say to change about this picture is trying to shoot with better lighting. I don’t know if you used artificial lighting of none at all but the shot looks a bit dim. Creative shot nonetheless.

The first thing that I like about this photo is that you only used to main colors, and one background color. I also like that the flower is quite obviously in focus, and the stems become a part of the background! Its really cool how the flower looks alive and well, until you look at the bent, brown stem, after which, it becomes quite clear that its dead!
