Main Ice

Contributed by T Riccchetti

I took this picture in Grey Stone when the water main busted. I like the lines in this picture. I love how the ice froze to the tree yet that there is even ice in Alabama. I hope y'all like this picture.

I like how the branch goes diagonally down the picture and stops a little after meeting the branch in the middle ground [?] because it takes the viewers eyes in a different directions. The ice is a little hard to see. maybe make the background a little darker somehow? i also like how sharp the branch is up frond and in the background its blurry enough that you see what it is but barely (if that makes sense). The sky is a nice light blue color but it makes it hard to se the ice a bit. it also makes it seem a little boring. overall though its an okay picture to me.

This picture is really cool. I like the lines in the picture and how they lead your eye around the whole photo. I also like how the shot gives off a kind of cold feeling. The frozen water dripping of the limbs are a really cool aspect of the photo as well. Overall, great shot. -BS SPHS

I think the way the ice formed makes this photo very cool. However, I think a closer-up shot would have improved it a little, because the branch behind it is somewhat distracting. Good depth of field on this picture.

You found ice outside? In Alabama??? NO. WAY. All kidding aside, this is a COOL shot (sorry, couldn't help myself). The DOF works well in that the branches in and near the front create an interesting line effect, but then some of the branches in the background cause a little too much interference. Everything else fits together nicely, especially the color of the sky in the background, which really completes the overall coolness of the image. Good job.

AM Main Ice

i think this is one of your better pictures, the idea behind it is pretty good as well, i like how the branches cross over one another, the ice is perfect also and the ski in the background completes it. it gives me a cool feeling when i look at it.

I like the lines of this picture. They do really help to lead your eye around the photograph. I agree that the back branch is somewhat distracting maybe because the color is darker and attracts your attention first. I think this shot has potential but something is missing in the wow factor for me.

This picture is a pretty good picture. I like the depth of field but I think the placement could have been better. The focus is great though! This picture makes me want to go snowboarding really badly. :]

This picture really stands out to me!You are right it is strange seeing ice in Alabama! I like how your main focus is on that one branch with the ice. You must have observant eyes to even notice something like this!

This is a good photo. I like the focus on the branch and i like where the branch comes into the photo. The ice looks very good and the overall effect draws your eye. I think the photo would have been better if there werent as many distracting branches in the background.

I would of changed the back branch somewhat because every time I look at this picture the back branch is the main focus.
