Trailorville

Contributed by B Townson

This is my first HDR and I took this along my way down hwy 119. I saw this fallen tree in a pond down the road from this trailer. As I went to take the picture I was confronted by the owners (who were scary hicks) about what I was doing. I managed to get the three shots of the fallen tree though before I was shot dead.

I really like this shot. The only problem I see is the leaf in the bottom right. It is very blurry. I really like the reflections in the water, especially where the branches and the fallen tree meet the water. The branches do a good job of continuously moving the eye around the picture.

First of all, I like the story and the adventure you endured to get this shot! Second, it was well worth the effort because this is a great shot! I love the way the tree is set at the right of the frame and the way the branches "branch" out toward the other side of the photo. This really adds the movement of the viewers eye and forces them to see the entire photo. The colors are very earthy and I like the solemness quality. There is one random bright green leaf in the bottom corner that could be edited out because the blur is somewhat distracting but it's not that big of a deal. I also really the like way you shot this...the setting is quite amazing. What a great way to include leading lines in this photo. Great job!

i really like this photo> it reminds me of a canoe trip i went on this summer. i really like the reflection of the tree in the water. i also really like the angle of the shot it looks like the tree stretched all the way across the river. the one thing i would have done different was set my focal point somewhere farther back in the background.

O.O sorry about my folks; they thought you were a tourist. Anyway, not bad for your first HDR. However, you can tell by looking at the leaves that the images aren't lined up very well. It may be that Photoshop just had some difficulty with lining up the layers. Still, more practice with taking the source images couldn't hurt. Using a tripod can make the layers look more similar, thereby making it easier for Photoshop to match up the right lines. Of course, running from the locals can't have helped :/ again, not bad.

This photo look really cool, the branches look really cool. The water also looks awesome and i really like the leaf that looks like it is floating into the photo. This is really good for you first HDR. SPHS-AR

This is an excellent picture with many interesting details in the image. I think that the angle chosen for this picture was what gives it the extra crisp detail. I also like the blurred reflection of the images coming of the water, it adds more contrast to the image. The tree branches also lead the viewers eye around the entire image. Excellent Job. JR

this picture caught my eye as soon as i saw it. i love how the branches lead the eye through the picture and the colors are very nice. the leaf in the corner is a bit distracting, but otherwise fantastic job!

This is a great photo that shows beautiful nature. The tree moves your eye across the picture and into the water. The reflections are great and the background is nice. There is one blurry leave on the right but other than that, its a good photo.

This is good Blake. Im a bit impressed. I would have never expected you to compete a good hdr photo. What i like about this is how different it is. Its not a traditional scene over a pond. Its a fallen tree from an odd perspective and is very different from other hdr that i've seen from people like Garrison lee. It's well executed and i know you didn't use a tri-pod because i know you don't have one. So this impresses me a bit more. good job...Brother.

You did a nice job with this HDR. What really stood out to me was the color of the trees and the water below it. The branches of the tree help lead your eye along the tree and toward the center of the shot. I dont think the leaf on the side is a big deal at all. Awesome job.

I definitely know which house you are talking about and I personall thought about trying to take a picture of this very subject. The shot is very well done and you processed the HDR perfectly. The reflection on the water is also very nice, but the only thing I might have changed would have been to try and get some more color in the shot besides green and grey. Other than that, however, the shot is superb.

This photo is not bad at all. For your first HDR shot you did a good job on it. When i first took a glance at the photo it made my eyes go all around it. I like how the branches are just everywhere somehow it made me think about leading lines o.o. The reflection of the tree in the water is just simply amazing, it makes the shot look very interesting. The angle where you took the shot of the tree was a perfect one couldn't have done it better my self ._.. Overall this is an excellent job! Keep up the good work! :] -MC SPHS

Well congratulations for submitting your first blog photo ever..and for it being an amazing photograph, at that. The image is beautiful, really. The composition is nice, the way the tree emerges from the top right corner and pull your eye into the piece, and then the branches move the eye all around. The fact that it's an HDR makes the image almost somewhat surreal seeming, the tree seems so icy and mystic in a way. The leaf towards the bottom right corner is distracting, however; the green is too bright. Maybe try clone stamping that out or just desaturating the color. I would also be interested in seeing this image in black and white...

This is a really great photograph! I think the whole thing that makes this photo unique is the angle it was taken from. The tree adds really good depth to the shot and the branches pop out at the audience in great detail. I also love how the water and trees are pretty much the same color making the tree stand out even more. I think my favorite thing about it is the end of the tree that extends into the water because it looks like the tree just keeps going! I think this is an amazing shot!

This is a good HDR from Blake, surprisingly. I like the detail that comes in from the HDR photomatrix'ing of the image brought in more detail.

This photo is ok. The log looks too fake and the leaf is waaaay to blurry. But the composition is interesting. The log really makes my eyes move around the image.
