Out to Pasture

Contributed by A Glass

I took this photo while i was in North Alabama doing my artist emulation. I chose to imitate William Christenberry, who is famous for taking photos of the deep south. My friend was showing me around, because he gets 32 miles to the gallon and i only get 13. All of a sudden, we came upon this field, so he pulled over and i took this panorama. I did a color correction, increased the contrast , and then edited the hue in saturation in LAB colour mode. Hope you enjoy.

I like the vibrant colors in this panorama and how the bright blue sky contrasts the bright green field. I also like how everything is in focus and it works well here to show off the whole area. I get a relaxed, summer day feeling from this photo, especially from the animals and barn. This is a very nice shot!

Very well done! I love the different areas your eye is led by the differing landscape as well as the variating sky. Furthermore, the color of the barn leads your eye towards it and provides a nice focal point for the image. The only possible change I would have made would be to have gotten more of the barn so your eye has a place to rest, but other than that this shot is superb!

This is a great panorama. I really like how there is so much going. I could spend a lot of time just looking this and absorbing everything in it. It is very tall for panorama, which really adds to the value because you get so much. I love the colors and the beautiful sky contrasted against the very green and peaceful land is great. I also can't tell where the photos were stitched together, which is good, because being able to see that really ruins a panorama. I really can't think of much to improve this image. Well done, this would look great printed out full size. MFS from SPHS

This is a very nice panorama. I really like the color in this photo you did a great job in photoshop. I also really like the clutter of rocks and trees because it really moves my eyes around. This also to me is a very relaxing scene with the white clouds in the sky to the green trees, grass, and mountains. The photo overall is very nice to look at and i really like it.

the thing i like about this picture is the color of the sky and clouds and the details you can see in them. I like the color of the grass but theres just to much going on in the grass and it makes it hard to focus on any one thing. Maybe if there was something you could stop to rest your eyes on like the barn but bigger.

I feel like this picture really does represent the deep south. It looks so country to me. It reminds me of the property my step dad has down in union town Alabama. Cool panorama glass. shps jk

Ok so while I love the pano and think the setting is sublime with the great sky and all... I still feel that the composition is a bit troubling. To many things going on in the foreground and no real good subject. So when I clicked on the thumbnail to enlarge the image it would not fit on the screen. When I scrolled right it cropped the image to the left of the middle trees eliminating the one on the left. This left a better composition to my eye and placed the most emphasis on the barn. Any way great shot, way to get outside with your camera and come back with some keepers!

this picture has a lot going for it, i like how you caught so many detail in one single shot, most pictures consist of focusing on a single detail or object but not this one. i like the way the green and blue come together to connect the image and the colors are so vivid and clear

This is a really good picture. It would be a really good nature panorama if the barn in the distance wasn't there. The rocks and the trees closest to us makes us look at each one, and then the trees make your eyes go even farther. This way it makes it so your eyes go throughout the entire picture. Again good job with the pic.

I like this panorama, the clouds seem to work together and really pull the picture in. I also like how the barn is kinda, there. It pulls your eyes to the center kinda.

I love the color and sharpness of this shot. The fact that you chose to shoot a pano is great..very clear and crisp picture. Nice setting and, the only change I would make is to have a more clear subject. nice lighting as well. Good job andrew!

I really like your photo! I love the open sky in your photo. I also like all of the different subjects in the picture. They really move your eye across the picture. The lighting in your picture is also done well. Good Job!

This is a great photo. I love the pasture and i'm a good ole southern boy so i love the country setting. This is an amazing panorama, and there is great contrast between the colors of the field and the colors of the sky. I love how the clouds give the picture movement, almost like the picture is moving super fast. Theres alot going on in the field with all the rocks and trees, it makes it hard to focus on one particular object. This is a great photo all around and makes me think of my grandparents farm.

I think the blue and white of the sky and the green in this photo look really nice. I also like how there is a building in the background, it adds more to the photo. But I think the numerous amounts of trees and rocks are kind of distracting. Overall, it’s a nice photo though.

I really like this photo. I do agree with Myers that there is too much going on in the foreground; my eye is just scattered all over, its not led to one specific subject. I love the greenery and the sky. I also like all the detail you got in the clouds and the trees, etc.

As I see it, the object of the shot is the Majesty and Power of the sky. When looking at the troubled scatter of rocks and the ancient barn, it allows the eye to confirm the Godly Creation over man's limited abilities. Good eye Andrew

You did an awesome job on this picture. I love panorama-style photographs, and you got this just right. I love the color contrast and how the viewer really gets a wide perspective. There’s a lot going on here, but it all works together very nicely.

I like how the clouds seem to go towards the right of the picture, which leads me to look at the main point, the barn. The lighting seems to have a good balance through out the entire photo. There seems to be a lot to look at, but it seems to keeps the photo interesting to look at.

This panorama is great! i try these all the time, and i have such difficulty with them. Did you use a t ripod? the picture is great, it's completely seamless, or it at least appears completely seamless. well done.

This picture really gives me the feeling of openness, and solitude. I love the bight colors of blue and green. The angle at which you shot it at looks like it was shot from a fish bowl lens. I also like the elongated horizon of the picture. By doing that you were able to capture the essence of how big this field was.
