Penny

Contributed by M Pitts

I used a Nikon D70 for this picture. I set it on "P" mode, and took several pictures of my cat, while she was relaxing on the driveway. This particular photo was my favorite, she looks very content and peaceful.

This is such a good picture. It looks like you're laying right there with the kitty. I'm probably commenting on this most of all because i love cats, but this really is an adorable picture. I would love to do this with my cat, but it probably wouldn't turn out looking like this one.

Looks like my cat! The cat itself is in clear focus and there's just enough of her in view to catch her arm in the photo. The blur on the distant background and close foreground helps bring the attention to the cat, and the colors aren't over- or under-saturated. Great photo. -J. Bryan SPHS

I like the way how it is concentrated on the cat. A drive way looks really interesting with the woods in the background is blurred out. Also like you said, looking at this picture does show how the cat looks relaxed.

I adore this picture. The kitty is precious. She is the main focus of the picture, and I like how only half of her body is showing. The rest of the picture is not focused, which only emphasizes the kitty's dominance. She looks like a legitimate model. The vibe I get from the precious kitty is that she is lazy and no matter what the circumstance is, she will refuse to move or do work. She will do as she pleases.

I really like this picture because i really like the cats eyes. I also like how the cat is the only thing that is not blurry, and how the paw looks closer to scree. i think that you should of gotten closer to the to the paw. This is a really pretty cat.

Your cat looks so relaxed, when first saw the picture I could feel the sun. I can imagine why she has that look on her face. There is a good focus on your cat. I like it a lot.

I like this picture a lot! It looks like the cat is looking directly at the person looking at the picture. It also looks like she is reaching out to touch us. The focus is set really cool due to the fact that the background is blurry. It really draws the eye to the cat, which is the main part of the picture. I also like the colors of the top of her ears because of the contrast. Good job!

I really like how your cat looks like she is a peace. She almost posed for you, and waited for you to take the picture. You also have great composition, and followed the rule of thirds really well. Great job!

I really like this picture and how close it is to the cat. It is almost like we're looking at the cat from another cat's perspective.

This is a really good picture. I like how the blurry background brings the cat into focus. Also, I noticed how the law of thirds was used here with the cats head at one of the golden points. MB SPHS

I like how everything is blurred out except the cat. It really shows how calm the cat is and the main focus is only there and no where else.

I don't even like cats and I like your image, so you must be doing something right. I take it back, I like cats but would not want to own one. Penny, if that is his name is after my own heart, relaxing in the sun and only slightly interested in that fool with the camera. Nice settings and composition. Perfect focus, on his eyes and great "decisive moment" with his expression.
Thanks for contributing!

I love this picture it shows how lazy cats really are. They have the life they just sit there lay around all day. The lighting is great how it falls on the cats fore-arm and paw it looks as if she is pointing at you to say take me: harty har.

I like this photo a lot. I like how it is off centered, the thirds rule. Animals are always an interesting subject to me. Most of them are very interesting. I always feel that dogs are more interesting to photograph, but there is something intreaging about this cat.

I really like this picture. First, I like cats. Second, I like how your cat is staring right into the camera. She looks very relaxed and nonchalant. The focus on your cat is great and I enjoy how the driveway looks like it is sparkling. The blur in the background really help draw you to the cat. The cat is in very nice detail. Excellent job!

I really like this picture. It reflects how I feel at the moment, feeling kind of blah and relaxed, not having a care in the world. I think this picture would be even cooler if the cat had been yawning while laying down.Adding a ball of yarn beside the cat would be a cool addition as well.

I think this picture is so cute! She look so peaceful and relaxed. I like how the lite is shining on her, and makes her look like she is glowing. I also like how she is looking right at the camera and looks like her paw is reaching out toward you.

I adore this shot, it's amazingly adorable! I love how the main focus is Penny and some of the driveway concrete. The way the cat is settled really make me also feel relaxed and peaceful like. Beautiful shot and a beautiful cat. Good job.

This reminds me of my kitten Jax. As for the picture the cat is in perfect focus. The background is blurred so your eyes don't move all around the picture. I'm not sure what the white powderish line is behind the cat but the shadow casting off the cat is well done. Nice pic! A.M. - SPHS

I like how focused and soft this cat appears to be and the blurred background leading me to look at her. The lighting is amazing; showing up on the cat and how it’s dark in the background and light up close, it really shows depth.

I really like the angle in which it is focused on the cat. The lighting on the cat's fur is great! I think this is a really great shot, and i love that the picture is of a cat. The cat looks so relaxed and in ways looks like she is posing for the picture at the same time.

I like this shot a lot because even though there are objects in the background your eyes are drawn to the cat laying in the foreground. This shot does not bring out a certain emotion but it is fascinating how the cat is very sharp and the background is slightly blurry. This effect helps focus the viewer's eyes on the initial subject.

I like this picture because its taken from the cats level instead of eye level. I also like that the cats front leg leads your eye to its body/head. I think the background simplified also helps draw the eyes attention to the focal point of the cat.
