For the 'your choice' assignment, I chose to do a music theme. I don't know what this is a picture of, but it was on my brother's guitar and I thought it was interesting. I changed it to black and white as a last minute decision, and I'm rather pleased with the result.

I really like this picture. I love the way there is a reflection on the top of the knob. I also like how the strings are wrapped around it. It adds a lot of art to the photo.

I like this picture! I think the black and white idea was a good decision (but I didn't see it in color so I'm just going off of what I see). I also like how the strings guide the eye to the knob. However, the other strings are somewhat distracting (minor gripe, though, it's not that distracting).
Also, so you know in the future, that's a tuning knob.
I like the gray scale on this picture and i really like, well what ever this object is... I like the white hazy background and i like the definition to the guitar strings.
Cool picture. The black and white really helps add emotion to the picture. I like the fact that you took a picture of the tuning knobs rather than the neck of the guitar.
This is an interesting image. The way the lines move really draw the eye, and the blur was a good idea. The way the strings coils around the object provides a cool subject. However, I think you should have gotten a different angle on the strings to get a long, linear view as they moved up/down the fret of the guitar. Overall, good job.

I really like this picture i like how you can see the bent reflection of the surroundings from the knob. I also like how i can see the individual spirals on the string. I agree with Anthony Cook about the black and white, it really adds effect the the picture. However i do not like the two strings that just lead off the the picture. They do a good job of moving my eyes across the picture but they led to nowhere. Overall it was a really good picture.

This picture caught my eye because of the black and white effect. If i had to take a picture of a "guitar thing" i would change the view from where i shot it from. i would have gone more straight on rather than at a awkward angle.

I like this picture a lot. The black and white works really well with the subject, good last minute decision! The strings draw your eye down. I do wish you got a view a little bit farther down the neck of the guitar to have really great leading lines. Still, great picture!

Well first off, kudos on the creative title. ;) Hah.
My only concern about the composition is that the top of the knob is touching the top of the photograph, and it creates a small amount of tension there. Otherwise, the composition is great. The guitar strings definitely add to it and the reflection in the top of the knob is nice. What would have been really cool is if you had foreseen that reflection and had something else music related there to reflect in it .. just an idea ! I doubt anyone else even noticed that reflection. I'm observant.
It works wonderfully in black and white. I would be interested in seeing it in color though!

This is a nice picture. It's really clear and that's hard to get when you're this close to your subject. I don't really like how you can't see more of the guitar because it's hard to tell what this is. Otherwise good job!
This is a very nice piece. I couldn't tell it was a guitar at first glance, but that's what drew me towards it. It made me start thinking of what it could be. I think the black and white really helped the feel of the piece and I like how the edge of the guitar fades off in a blurry like way.

Well.. Clearly this is a picture of a gutar string wrapped around the key at the end of the guitar. haha You should've tried to capture the part of the key that twists as well. If you would have done that as well as giving that part of the key a bright chrome finish it'd be beautiful.
