HDR 17

Contributed by D Meadows

After trying about a thousand times to get a good HDR, this is the first one that really turned out. I love the effect on the clouds as well as on the trees. Also, the texture of the road is pretty foshizzly.

I like how the road is like a leading line and you can see the sun on the close part and its gets darker further away. I also like how the trees have sunlight on them yet the cloud are dark.

I really like this picture because of the contrasting colors. I like how the clouds are super dark and the trees are really bright. I also agree with Meadows about the texture of the road. It is indeed very foshizzly.

this photo is cool in hdr but it doesn't stand out from any other photos. it would look better with an object in the foreground in my opinion. BF SPHS

This photo has a very strong composition. It has very good leading lines. The road draws the eye straight down the shot. I like the play of light with the trees in the foreground and the clouds in the background. It looks very surreal to me. Great job! > MH SPHS

The subject of this photo is really simple, and that adds to its beauty. The colors of the trees are amazing and the contrast between the darker leaves and the lighter leaves really catches my attentions.
The sky is also very interesting. There's a good mix of dark and light that makes the sky so much more interesting to look than if it was just a plain blue sky. I'm not completely sure why the road is so intriguing, but it is. It might be the color or the fact that it's almost deserted, but I love it. Great job.

I really like this picture. It makes me wonder where this road leads to. It also make me think about the road to my future.I like the effect of the clouds and how it gives the trees a type of hazy look. A.S.-SPHS

David, this picture is outstanding! I love how the road leads your eyes through the picture just like in a car. Also, the clouds in the background make a very good contrast with the bright sky all around it. As the picture moves from the front towards the back, it progressively gets darker. I can't think of any ways to critique this so great job! PT-SPHS

I love how the textures in the sky, trees and road are shown so clearly. The use of color was portrayed greatly. This is an overall eye-pleasing photo. Keep up the good work!

I really like the color balance in this picture. The different greens and blues make the picture pop out. It’s like a picture before a storm or something. I also like the angle which it was taken. The fact that you can see the road and parts of the sky. It’s really pretty and mysterious. :) VD-ERHS

This picture is really cool. The color of the picture makes it look almost cartoonish looking. How it's brighter in the front then it is the back is really cool. I just really like the picture a lot.

This is a great picture! it kind of looks cartoon-ish, but real life at the same time. I love how there's many different colors; the dark thunder clouds rolling in and the green trees hanging over the road. The only down side to the picture is the two cars all the way at the end of the road. I know it must have been hard to take a picture in the middle of the street without getting any cars in the picture, and they don't RUIN the pic, the picture just would have been better if they weren't there. :)

I really like the tone of this picture. I love the sky and how the color changes on he right side of this picture, first its gloomy then sunny. What I really love is the weather or the sky.

I just love the colors in this picture. I love the effect on the clouds. Just looking at the picture it kinda makes me sad a little bit because of the clouds. The road looks really long. The neighborhood looks dull and boring. It seems that the people who live there are older.

This is an awesome picture. I like the stormy effect to the sky. A lot of photos of roads are taken, but this one is one of the best I've seen in a while. I like the yellows, greens, and blues. The colors all go very well together to really pull the photo together. -EB from SPHS

This is a really cool picture. I like how simple it is. I also really love the color in this picture and the dark clouds in the background. It reminds me of an old country neighborhood. Great job!

This is such a cool picture! I love the eerie look to it but the road acts as leading lines to a brighter area. The contrasting colors between light and dark is what makes this picture so wonderful. The definition in the clouds makes them all the more appealing to the eye. The whole thing looks surreal. It makes you wonder f there's a story behind it. Great picture!

I like how the road creates a leading line and turns out of the picture behind the trees. As humans we don't always know what is behind the next turn in our journey through life.

I also like the contrast of colors. The clouds are dark and gloomy yet the trees are so bright and full of life.

I love the effect of how dark the clouds are and how bright the trees and grass are! The leading lines in the picture make it look really long but the neighborhood doesn't look interesting. I really like this picture, good job!

I love how you captured this image!By looking at the road and the trees it almost looks like a pretty day outside, but the gray clouds outside change the tone of the entire image to a gloomy setting.Pretty picture and a good observation!sphs

I really like the colors in this picture and how they brighten the trees and the how the clouds look.SPHS

The colors in this picture are really interesting. The trees in the front look like they are in the sunlight, but the clouds are dark and gloomy. I also like the leading lines of the power-lines even though they kind of fade into the distance.

This picture is very cool, but it doesn't stand out as much as the other photos do. I'm not too fond of how it doesn't look realistic. It look very photo shopped. Maybe it would look better as a black and white photo.

I was scrolling down the list and this picture happened to catch my eye. This picture looks amazing right from the get go. I love the effect of the clouds with the lighting of the trees. I like how the road seems to fade into the background. great pic! A.M. - SPHS

I like how the clouds produce a dark, gloomy feeling. The leading lines create a sense of having a long road. The depth of field is very good with the cars being very small compared to the mailbox. The colors of the trees are a little off color and make the trees look fake. Nice Picture. -KS SPHS

I like how the line in the middle of the road causes a linear vanishing point. I also like the emphasis on the clouds, and how the light is shining on one part of that tree. It makes the color of the picture really interesting. It makes me think that to the right of the picture, the sun is shining. The cars that are in the distance causes a more real- life feel. I also like the textured look of the road. Overall, great picture!

So this picture is probably one of the coolest things I've seen. I would say that you got the HDR to work. My eye is actually drawn to the bright green tree and the grass though, instead of the sky. But everything looks really cool, all the different hues are fantastic. The composition is also very nice with the leading lines and such. Very nice job!

This picture has a lot of contrast. The clouds are very dark while the trees are bright. This photo has a great depth of field and I like how your eyes are lead to the cars in the background. I like how it's a half and half between dark and light. Great job on this photo. You did a very nice job! : )

This is one of the nicest annoying picture’s I’ve seen. You have great focus, Depth of field, and a vanishing point! You don’t see it much. Great job there. But those clouds and the tree next to the blunt green one on the right hand side, look so fake it’s almost to hard to explain. I really doubt that’s exactly how it looked and I’m always one for an abstract feel, but the contrast of reality and fiction is this picture Is to large. I love the shot and it’s contains just those clouds and that tree… Uhg. Ruined it color wise. Austin Larson ERHS

This picture is really good:) i love the contrast! it looks so fake but its real. good job!

This picture is really intense, in a good way! it reminds me of that clip at the beginning of a movie with the long road with a tree at the end and it gets struck by lightning. The road is a great leading line into what looks like distant future. The clouds give it a somewhat ominous feeling but it works well! Good job!

This is a great idea. I love the lighting and how the clouds look. The roads texture is very appealing. In your description of the picture I probably wouldn’t have put down foshizzly. It makes it harder to understand how you captured the shot and what exactly happened.

I like the colors in this photo, some of the colors are vibrant toward the front but as the road goes on the colors grow darker. I like how you can still see blue sky through the storm clouds. Good use of leading the subject.

I really want to try this HDR thing, and this picture makes me want to try it even more. I love how you took a really simple shot and made it amazing with this cool technique. The leading line of the road really draws my eyes to the storm that is over head; which also looks great. This picture reminds me of the movie twister, incase you wanted to know.

This Picture looks really cool, The clouds look like Zeus is about to shoot out of them and strike someone, and one part of the picture is sunny and looks like nothing is going on, picture is really colorful. Love it

I really like how this photo looks gloomy like a storm is going to hit and how the picture looks like it goes on for miles the way the road goes down. This picture uses great leading lines element from the lines on the road leading to the stormy clouds. The focus is really good here, slightly falling out of focus the more the picture goes down but you can still tell clearly what everything is.
