Child's Play

Contributed by FC Jones

I took this picture on an old swing set. It was really cool looking, and I like how this photo turned out. To me, the colors stand out the most. I also like the one-thirds of the photo. I ran a levels adjustment and I think that was about it.

I like how you used rule of thirds with the swing by placing it off to the side. The swing is clearly the center of interest and how the grass is much brighter then the wood, the swing really stands out.

I like this picture. Very good angle. It gives you a different perspective of the swing. Also, good work with the rule of thirds. I like the grass and leaves incorporated as well as the swing. Good Work.

FC Jones,

As you know, I am rather fond of this picture. I believe this was one of 2 that we did not completely bash. I would like to go swing on this old swing set. It is truly lovely. You have created a marvelous composition and done a fine job editing. See you at lunch tomorrow.

This is an interesting shot, very cool looking indeed. It's neat how the swing looks like its sitting on top of the grass. The colors are all good together too. Good job :) -EB from SPHS

This picture is very nice and I like the way you were thinking but I'm not too amazed with the colors. I think this photo could have looked better with something less bright.
The green against the light gray hurts my eyes.
Good job none-the-less.

I like how you attempted using the rule of thirds though I think that it could have been executed better. The lighting is a little bright and the coloring does not benefit the picture at all. It may look decent in black and white.

It is great how you took an idea and made it a unique angle. This really does show perspective and is very interesting to look at. Nice rule of thirds!

I like the way that the swing is tilted to one side. It is a very simple picture but it shows time, because the wood is grey and the rope is grey, so in a way it shows a bit of history. Nice job! BF sphs

This picture makes me feel warm. The subject of the picture is the swing, and it reminds me of the fun I used to have when I was a kid. The leaves around the swing make it better, because without the leaves, it would just be grass, which would be boring.

This is a great shot! I like how the swing still appears to be in motion. It looks like a kid could have just finished swinging and jumped off. I also like the aerial view and how the ground and swing appear to be wet. The dead leaves on the ground also give a very peaceful mood to the picture. The positioning of the swing to the left was also a good idea. Great work! PT-SPHS
