I like this picture because of the way the flower is presented. I like the rain drops on the flower as well as the dark background so that the flower sticks out. good job! BF sphs

I really like this picture because of the colors. I like the black and white background with the pink rose. It gives a nice contrast. It's a very soothing picture overall, and it makes me smile. I especially like the dew on the rose.

11/4/09. SPHS blog. Rose. I like this picture because of the contrast between the foreground and background. Also, the individual droplets of water on the leaf attract my attention to the subject of the photo especially well. MB. SPHS.

I really like this photo because it is soft and subtle. The light pink of the flower really stands out because the background is black and white, and it pulls the entire photo together. I like how the focus is only on the flower (which is not center) and the rest is blurred. My favorite part about the picture is the little raindrops or dew, whatever it is, on the flower petals. That contributes to the soft feel of the image.

This is a cool idea for a photo. I think that the focus of the shot should be a little more clear. I would like to see more of the reflection of the rose in the water. The gray scale of the background and the water on the flower gives the feel of a rainy day. >MH SPHS

I really like this picture. I like the colors. The pink is so soft and delicate which doesn't overwhelm the photo. The black and white background gives it a cool effect. I like that the rose is the only object in color. Also, the soft light is good. Its cool how you can see the dew drops on the rose and even on the leaf in the background. The rose is even opened up a little instead of tight and compact. The contrast is really nice in this photo. Also, nice usage of the rule of thirds. Neat photo.

This picture is very cool. Good usage of the rule of thirds. I also like how you made the background black and white. It really makes the rose pop out at you and keeps your attention there. Good job!

Good job on this picture! The black and white with the dull pink was a great call, and the effect of the dull color and the water droplets has worked fantastically well against the blurred, grey background. Your adjustments work very well, but it may have worked even better had you enhanced the color of the rose and made it vibrant - however, the dull pink and white of the rose give the picture a dreary feel, whereas a vibrant color enhancement would work completely different. Great job on this picture.

I love this picture. I really like how it has a black and white background so the pink flower stands out.

The first thing that grabs my attention in this picture is obviously the pink rose. I think that it was a great idea to change the paint to black and white, and paint back the pink rose.Cool picture!sphs

Pictures that show water drops up close are my favorite! The pale pink of the rose stands out excellent against the charcoal grayish background! Even though there are branches in the background, all that really stands out is the flower. Impressive!

I really like this picture. I like how the the rose is the focus and everything else is slightly blurry. I also like how you made only the flower in color.

This photo is really cool mainly because of the colors in the photo. It could be saying all is dead around, but still life continues to blossom and grow beautifully. That's just my opinion. I like the still water droplets on the petals too.

I like how the pink and white of the rose contrast with the background. This gives the rose a more solid feel. Blurring the background was a great idea, as it makes the rose standout more. Also the crispness of the rose is beautiful.

I really like this picture. The color of the rose really stands out with the gray tint background. I like the vivid texture that can be seen on the petals of the rose. There is a good use of the rule of thirds with the subject off center. I like how the background is very faded so that the rose really stands out. -KS SPHS

I know everyone has said this, but i really like this picture because of how the flower is portrayed. Also, the water droplets on the leaf also give the picture more detail and depth. The black and white colors make the picture look intense, but also kind of sad. The pink rose brightens the picture completely. I really like this picture, great job! - CE

This photo is phenomenal!!! By simplifying the background you create more emphasis on the flower. Also, by keeping only the flower in color it keeps the photo simple, yet interesting. If you were to take this picture again I would try taking the picture horizontally.

I think this photo is better with the background black and white because you can really focus on just the flower and the droplets on it.

I love how the rose is the only color in the picture and everything else is darker tones. It gives a feeling that it times of darkness there is always hope. I also love the water droplets on the rose. Also the rose is not centered which gives more emphasis. Great Job

Black and white is such an odd tool to use. The more I see it, the more accustomed to it I become. Your rose is a great subject but… You’ve cut it off a tad to soon! Should have cropped it more to the right… I have no quarrels with this picture except that one.

The grey background of this picture makes the pink rose stand out more and I really like that the rose has drops of water, I think it makes it look more interesting.

I like how you only put the rose in color and the rest with none. The background almost looks green and not black and white which is a good effect. The rose however could be a little further down to make it a rule of thirds picture, but good job.

The detail is really amazing. I like how the only thing in color is the rose and everything else is grey. I also like the faded color of it. I think this would have looked better if you adjusted the lighting to make the color more vivid.

This picture is really nice because the pink of the rose stands out a lot against the dark gray background. Where the rose is placed in the frame shows a nice use of rule of thirds.
