Patriot Dreams

Contributed by T Hemby

This picture was taken over Thanksgiving at Fort McHenry in Baltimore, where the Star Spangled Banner was written. I really like the colors of this image and the story it tells. I did a levels adjustment. Enjoy

I absolutely love this picture because of the the little kid draws your attention to him and the flag. The little cornerstone of the building really adds to the overall picture and creates a better image. Also I think that the only aspect of the picture that could be better is take a little more of the sky out of the background.

The rule of thirds is executed very well I like that you used the little boy as your target. The lighting could have been a bit brighter I think visually it would enhance you photograph. The clarity of your photograph is also very well done. I’m not sure if the boy or the flag is supposed to be the main focus.

I like this photo. The flag, boy, and cornerstone are all relatively on the right third, which gives the picture a nice feel to it. I really like the concept shown here, but it may be more powerful if the flag was waving brilliantly in the background instead of folding upon itself. The title is creative and fitting. All in all, you have converted a really good concept into a very interesting photo.

This is a great photo! I like all the colors in it. The contrast and exposure fit very well, also. I like the grass, but I wonder what it would look like with more of it in the shot. Good job on capturing the boy's expression, too! And the flag adds to the photo. Good job!

I like the bright colors in the picture. The red striped flag against the blues sky is great contrast. I think that the picture really represents where the picture was taken.
