Alleyway

Contributed by T Williams

I was walking around downtown and saw a cool looking alley. I stopped to take a picture, and I really liked how the paint on the street looked. I ran a saturation adjustment to make it stand out more.

I really like this picture, because of the vanishing point. I like the random grafiti drawings close to the camera, and then how the lines of the two walls of the alleys make the photo seem so deep. The alley looks like it has some kind of story to tell, with the random lines and cracks everywhere. I think the colors look good also. Overall, i love this picture and great job!! -ce

The concept of this photograph is good but the execution is a little off. This photo should be a little brighter and the levels are a slightly off. The contrast between the white buildings and the red brick would be seen better being a little lighter. Also the blue sky would contribute more to the photograph.

I really like this picture because of the whole scary raining feeling. The vanishing point really pulls you in and it makes me wonder what is past that.

This is an interesting photo because it shows an emptiness in the world. It shows a very dirty and abandoned looking place. the buildings to the left and right lead the eye to the center of the photo and when the eye gets here then it moves up to the sky then back along the building which creates a smooth flow of the eye. very nice job! I find this picture kind of boring. It’s a good concept and idea. The lighting isn’t that good and the alley isn’t that exciting. There isn’t that much paint on the ground if there was more it might be a cooler shot.

This is a really interesting picture. The linear perspective shot can get worn out a lot, but there is something about the random paint on the ground and the worn buildings that makes this particular shot stand out. The markings on the ground draw the eye around the picture and you did a great job capturing perspective. Good jorb

I really like this picture, it has an interesting quality to it. I love the linear perspective. I actually know where that is, so that just makes it even cooler. SPHS HLS

I like this picture. It is a good example of linear perspective. I like how it looks dark so that you can tell its like abandoned and kind of mysterious. i like how you can see the different textures of the buildings. the graffiti stands out and i like it.

This photo is great due to the vanishing point. I like how the orange pops out and is close to the camera. The whole photo being dark is a neat idea. It brings mystery and fear or maybe I have watched too many scary movies. If the bricks had been a little bright the picture would have popped a little more. Nice photo all in all.

I like this photo because of the the color, it makes the alley look gloomy and gives it a dark tone. I also like the leading lines of the buildings. Good job!

I really like the whole urban look. The leading zig-zag lines draws me directly to the vanishing point. The spray paint also draws my attention and it gives a look that isn't plain. This picture makes me feel like I'm really there.

This photo looks like a scene from the show CSI Miami. The adjusted saturation looks good and it was also taken at a nice angle because you can't tell the depth of the alley.

I really like the grungy aspect to this picture. Everything looks really dirty than there’s this beautiful blue sky, kind of like two different worlds. The way you shot this picture down the alley towards another building is great, it adds a lot of texture.

While this photo may look very ordinary to the untrained eye, I can find many good things that are done with this shot. First of all, I like the lines that lead to the end of the ally way. Also the lighting done sets the mood very well. The overcast weather gives the picture a feeling of depression and abandonment. Very well done.

I like the mysterious feel this image portrays. It is interesting how towards the foreground, the images around are shaded and gloomy. And as you look further down the alley, the buildings become lightened.

This a really cool landscape picture. The photographer effectively captured the depth of this street. I like the asymmetry of the tall building and the shorter building. The lines effectively led the viewer's eye through the picture. I also like how the photographer captured the gloomy weather, which really creates a dark and ominous mood. I really like the feel and vibe this picture gives off.

This picture is definitely awesome. It has great linear perspective and i like the eclectic vibe i get from this photo. I also like how the spray paint on the asphalt adds something.

I think overall this is a very good photo. When I first looked at it I thought this was a really great photograph. There are lots of eye catching things and there are tons of leading lines, however, I feel that at the same time this is the problem with it. I feel that there is a ton of things going on in this photo and not really a clear subject. It was a very cool concept, I just believe with a definite subject it would be that much better. Keep up the good work. ATP SPHS

I really like this picture, mostly because it's dark, and I have a terrible headache right now. The elongated feel of down the alleyway and across the street gives a very interesting feel, the orange paint is also very interesting, and gives a leading line effect.

I really like this picture. I like how the dark dreary sky gives the image a more dark and scary feeling and really adds character to the scenery. I also like the angle in witch you shot the photo.

I really like this picture. The linear perspective makes it seem like the road could go on forever. I also love how you captured the buildings. Good Job!

This is an extremely good shot. The vanishing point lined against the walls is perfect. And great job with the saturation. Nice job. W.H.

I enjoy how the paint on the ground is brought to attention. It was quite a clever use of a saturation adjustment. The buildings also provide a very understandable linear perspective.
