Colorpipe

Contributed by T Hemby

Several weeks ago I went to Sloss Furnace in the bitter cold. I had to warm my hands every few minutes, but I ended up with a few good shots despite the sub-freezing temperatures. This is one that I quite liked; enjoy.

Ooo Very appealing! The day might have been cold, but this picture feels very warm. The reds are just so strong and help make the picture. The leading lines really pull towards the center of the image.

I really like the bigger pipe coming from the bottom corner. It really adds to the picture. I agree with the person above me, the reds DO make the picture look warm! You did an excellent job! :)

This picture is very abstract looking! I love the rust coloring of the pipes. There is linear perspective in this photo as well. Well Done.

Very well done Tyler. I agree with what Jake H said. This is a very warm photo despite how cold it must have been. I like the perspective you took this photograph from. It allows for all of the leading lines to go into and out of the picture. I also like how the biggest pipe of all leads your eye right to the center of the photograph. I also like how the biggest pipe adds a large curve to an image of mainly straight lines. Great job. ATP SPHS

Very nice. It was said before, it may have been cold, but the picture has a very nice warm feeling. I love how the pipes lead you to the center of the photo. When I first glanced at the image it made me wonder and try and figure out what could be past the windows.

I like how all the reds in this picture match together, from the brick wall to the big tube things. There are a lot of interesting shapes too, like the straight lines on the wall and the curving tubes. VD-ERHS

This picture is really cool. I love how it looks like it was taken at a very high angle but then again it looks like the picture was taken close up. The rustic colors also give the picture a unique touch to it.

I realy like this photo. The color saturation is very nice, and really brings out the industrial vibe of the pipes. The center pipe draws the eye to the window in the middle, but the window does not seem to be the point of the picture. Perhaps a better-defined subject would improve this picture.

The pipes make a very interesting picture. The pipes also seem to have a sort of soft glow to them which is cool. Great photo.

I like the rusty pipes! The red in the rust complements the red in the bricks. Nice composition also. Good Job.

I like how the rust on the pipes make this picture and the color is perfect!
The big center pipe draws your eye to the window also. The top pipe is a little much but still a very wonderful pic!

I like the way the pipe in the bottom pops out, probably because the size is different from the other ones. Also as you mentioned on the description on the photo I can tell the day was cold or cloudy just looking at this photo. I also like the angle you took this from. Great Pic!

I like how in this picture the rust from the pipes is seeping onto the windows. I like how in this picture you are able to see the burn marks on the brick.Sphs

Im going to start by saying that this is an awesome photo. The vantage point is what makes this photo what it is. I love how the rule of thirds was followed in this photo. It really makes it more interesting. I also really like the colors in this photo, it really gives off that industrial feel. The lighting and exposure in this photo are really almost near perfect. I love this photo. Would definatly hang this on my wall!

The pipe coming in from the bottom right corner plays nicely with the way your eye views it. Also, it contrasts with the pipe leading at the top of the picture. Very nice contrast and photo.

I really love the warm yet desaturated color in this picture, and the lines from the tubing and pipes makes for a very interesting composition. The overall desolate atmosphere of this picture is incredible as well. Props!
