Knowledge Quest Covers

My students have been working on their submissions to the periodical Knowledge Quest, an international publication for the national association of library professionals. My students' work has been used as the cover art for past editions in the past two years.

This year the periodical deals with how today's learners and teachers use video to teach and learn.

My first year photography students created the images and one or more will be selected to be grace the cover and internal pages.

So here are some that I found especially good.

R Wheeler

J Wayland

M Pitts

F O'Daniel

A Johnson

H Harris

N Celia

Great designs! I especially like the fourth cover - the colors are bright and attention-grabbing, the layout is easy to understand, the person's head has been simplified with filters, and it's one of the only ones that doesn't use the YouTube logo. Congratulations, anonymous author. -JB SPHS

i really like the way everyone had different opinions on this assignment. I am very impressed at the way all these knowledge quest turned out and cant wait to see the final choice. Honestly i would not change one thing on any of these pieces, personally the hands holding the earth is my favorite ;)

I have gone back and credited the image to the artist. Sorry for the omission

These are really great. Hard to pick a winner but the very first one really appeals to me for many reasons. Good work by everyone.

I really like a lot of these. They're all very well done. Most of them are simple, by design, and I think that keeping it simple worked really well for this project.
The seventh cover (H Harris) and the eighth cover (N Celia) are my favorite. Harris' shows a very unique design. I can't make out, with total clarity, what it is, but the blue flame effect really catches the eye. Celia's is so unique because of the color. The photo displays a wide color spectrum that I just can't help but love.
They are all really well done though, and I really feel like these people managed to get the assignment.

I think that some of these are very well done, whereas some of these look like they could use more work. I like J Wayland's best, but if he has the opportunity, he needs to fix the image to fit within the space given. The image does not completely fill the images dimensions.

Other images had graphics that did not fit very well within the picture. The graphics look blurry and out of place when they shouldn't.

However, many of these are impressive concepts and pictures.

These are wonderful and very creative projects! My favorite is the seventh one down. I love the use of technology and the kind of blue fire coming out of it! It was a great idea. Keep up the good work!

I really like all these ideas of the knowledge quest. I realize that in today's world we learn from the internet and around the world. Not just by teachers in a classroom but by different people in the world.

All of the knowledge quests are amazing! My favorite one is the 1st one. It shows how updated we are in technology and how dependent we are in acquiring information from the internet. I like how you put the mac computer because that is the most modern and most popular computer today. Good job everyone! :)

I really like all of these knowledge quests posters. They all show creativeness and different ideas. I also like how some show technology from the past as well as the present.

I think that all of these pictures are really good and everyone of them did a great job with them! But I would have to say that the one by H Harris would be my favorite! I like the blue that is in the middle and what it is doing! Good Job:)

I really like the approach that everyone took. It's almost like pop art and I think that that is one style that is used less and less today. I thought it was cool hour you all put in photo strips and logos. The pictures all really come together well.
