Long Trees

Contributed by J Bryan

An old picture I decided to dig back out and have another go at editing. Other than cropping and stamping out a few stray lines in the grass, I decided not to mess with it after all.

I love the rich colors in the picture! And the shadows give it a mysterious feel to the picture also.. I really like how dark the trees are compared to their leaves. great picture!

I really like this photo. You did a great job with the timing of your photoshoot here. I think the shadows and the position of the sun allow for the soft light in this photo. I like how the shadows are able to lead your eyes throughout the photograph and you are able to see the photograph in it's entirety because of all the lines the tree's create. As I said before this is a really good photo. Great job. Keep up the good work. ATP SPHS

I love how the light in this photo creates all the cool shadows. Plus, I like how the branches seem to all converge together and create a mixing effect. Good job. MB. SPHS.

This is a really cool photo. I love the fact that everything has a red tint to it. The play of the shadows on the ground is really interesting too. I like the path out to the right. The lines it creates are unexpected. Nice job. >MH SPHS

This is a great photo - the shadows of the trees create some very interesting lines that move the eye across the picture. The colors really stand out and keep this image from being boring. Great job on this

I don't think you could have gotten better timing on this picture; the shadows and lighting are amazing! I like all the lines that are created by the trees. The coloring is interesting; I'm guessing it is fall or early spring? The only part that doesn't seem quite right is the right side of the picture. I can't decide if it would look better cropped but something just feels a bit "off" on that side for some reason. Overall, good job, this is so pretty!

I really like this picture. I like how the trees combine together and make it seem that it is all one big tree stretched out. I also like the colors, they really bend together and give the picture a really peaceful feeling. I also like the fact that the picture was not changed much at all. No colors were changed and it does not seem that the contrast or brightness was changed. This is a really good picture.

I really like this picture. I love the color and the saturation that you used. I also like the angle at which you took it and the little details, like the bench, that are very subtle but make the photo interesting. Great job!

This picture is great because of the vibrant colors and the shadows of the trees. The way the lines in the shadows lead out of the photograph really catch your eye. The contrast of the dark shadows to the bright yellowish color on the ground also give a great visual. Great!

The lighting in the photo is really cool. I like how there is light coming in through the trees and shadows cast by trees. The color is also very interesting. It is very warm and the reds make the photo unique. I really like the contrast between the greens and red, because it really adds to the picture. The only thing I would recommend is to maybe find a focal point because right now, the viewer’s eye is drawn to the dark tree. I’m not sure if that’s what the photographer wanted as a focal point. Also, the rule of thirds is kind of broken in this picture because a tree is in the dead center.

I love this picture because it reminds me of fall. I like all of the fall colors and how i can i can tell how it probably felt outside.

The way the shadows of the trees stretch along the surface is a good way of showing how long the trees can be, shadow or not. Also there seems to be a balance from the long shadows in the front and the long trees in the background of the picture.

This picture is beautiful. The colors are all of the same, subtle tint yet each part of the picture stands out. The way the shadows of the branches fall on the ground allows you to follow the picture and see all of its elements. Great timing. Awesome job! -JH SPHS

I like the deep contrast of the trees against the sky. This picture is also a good example of Depth of Field. If you ever come back to this try putting a gray-scale on the backgroud so that the tree stands out a little more.

I really like the color scheme of this photo. This lighting is done well, and the white sky adds a neat effect to the browns and greens. Also, I like the shadows coming in at an angle rather than running sideways. Great photo, especially since you didn't have to touch it up much! AF-SPHS

I love this photo. The dark shadows help to bring out the vivid colors. Also, the lines that the twisted branches of the trees and the shadows create makes a successful composition for the photo and pleasing to look at.

Something I really like about this photograph is the different colors. It reminds me of fall and the mixture of green and orange and kind of purple is interesting to look at. This image has a large depth of field and one of my favorites! I also love the shadows on the green grass and how the trees run off of the page. It fills the frame and is very appealing to the eye.

I really love the shadows involved in this picture. You can tell exactly where the sun is at this time of day. When I first looked at the picture I thought it was morning. Although thinking about it, one cannot determine whether the sun is rising or falling.

I love the vibrant colors of the sun and how the shadows are elongated! It creates a very cool look. Great job!
