Cemetery Mushroom

Contributed by H Camp

I took this photo at the cemetery on 119 near the interstate. I bumped up the contrast and that's about it.

This is a really cool image because of the detail. I think the cracks traveling throughout the mushroom make it look a little more interesting than the rest of the image, which makes for a good point of interest. Also, the fact that there's tombstones behind the mushroom adds a little meaning to the picture, maybe an underlying theme for the viewer to ponder about.

As far as the rule of thirds goes, the mushroom is framed very nicely by the grass around it. The unusual shape and size made it hard for me to identify as a mushroom at first, but the contrast and texture on the surface really make it stand out. JB SPHS

I like this picture because its a little contradicting. The mushrooms really cute but then you see a cemetery in the background. The contrast looks really good too, good idea to bump it up. SPHS

I really like this picture. Excellent work on your rule of thirds. I like the aperture setting as well. Overall, very nice work.

I like this picture a lot, it kind of depicts a fantasy land if you do not look at the tombstones. It also reminds me of a special childhood memory.

I really like this photo, especially how you took something normally considered gross or ugly and made it beautiful.

The mushroom is placed in a good spot, and is in good focus. I like how you used lower f-stop to have the for ground focused and the back blurred out. The top of the mushroom is a little blown out ,but not that bad. Also i like the vivid detail of the mushrooms wrinkles and dirt.

The coloring of this picture is nice. The bumped up contrast really helped the appearance of the picture. The cemetery in the background goes well with the foreground.

This is a Great photo!
I like everything about it.
I like the focal point of the mushroom around all the green. The green makes the mushroom really pop.

I love the focus on the mushroom. The whiteness of it brings out the really good looking emerald green of the grass. I also love how the tombstones are in the background to show that with death comes new life.

I really like this picture...i think it could be improved if the focus was greater on the mushroom. This photo makes me feel kind of lonely which is good since the picture was taken in a cemetery. The contrast is overall good and i enjoy this picture.

The compliments of a mushroom, a fungus, in growing in a cemetery is a nice idea. Being that fungus normally grows on decaying objects, the bodies buried are in fact decaying.

Reminds me of Alice in wonderland with the caterpillar sitting on the mushroom. The out of focus background makes you’re subject stand out. Great contrast of color. Keeper!

I really like how this picture is just the contrast It makes it simple, even though there is so much more to it. I like how it is zoomed into the mushroom so maybe people will be more focused on the mushroom, but in all actuality I think that the cemetery is something more important!

i like the focus put in the the mushroom in the foreground. the tombstone in the background really blends with it being out of focus.
