Took this downtown for an angles/diagonals assignment. I played around with the colors a lot and cropped in on the original photo.

This photo stands out from the others because it has unique features. Each brick on the build is different from each other. I just like the idea of taking this photo. BC - SPHS
I really like the colors in this picture. The contrast between the two is really cool, with little details such as the way the bricks run horizontally and how the blue wall has vertical ridges. Nice angle, too. Good job! JH- SPHS
this photo is,unluckily, not my favorite. i dont see much effort gone into taking the picture. its nice if you just started, the focus is good but there is nothing special about the picture that i see. SPHS AB
I like the colors, the photo does not look too edited. Many shapes are conveyed. Diagonals are used, lines, circles, edges. The mood is hard because of the colors but nice because of the sunny feel.
What I love about this photo is the contrast between the brick building and the panel building. There is this very retro feeling to it.The element of composition used here was lines. The way that the buildings are crossing each other is a great use of lines. The lighting is very soft and I like that about the photo and the focus is strong so it balances out nicely. BF-PHS
This is a great photo for the type of assignment it was for. The blues and reds are really interesting, and it's really neat how the lines seem to divide them. Really good picture. -CB SPHS
This high school photoblog is the product of the photography students at Spain Park High School in Hoover, Al.
Students take turns posting one of their images along with a brief explanation each school day. The students also trade critiques with their peers from other schools around the country (see high school blog links below).
We are always looking to expand our participating schools. If your photography program starts a blog, email Mr. Myers so he can add your link to our growing list. emyers@hoover.k12.al.us
Feel free to give constructive criticism or complements if you see an image you enjoy. You can leave an anonymous comment, but please sign your initials and your school's name.

This picture is a great representation of the deteriorating state of downtown.
