Bump

contributed by Mikael Silas

I not only found this picture interesting, but funny as well. I was walking around Calera High School after the ACT and noticed this park and football field. I went on a little photo outing and these were the results. All I did with this picture was crop it and adjust the curves a bit.

I love the yellow of the sign against the black of the pavement. I just tend to like close up pictures so this one just kind of drew my eye, and I also love how clear the sky is in this picture. Great job overall and I hope that you did good on the ACT!

I like the angle of this picture, the bump sign with the bump itself included gives a cool look! I also love the bright yellow against the greens and grays , good job!

I really love the angle this photo is taken at. The upward curve of the bump really stands out, as well as the dirt outlining it (ew).I also like the long vertical line the angle of the photo creates, it has a very deep focus that makes the photograph seem endless, your eyes just want to keep looking ahead, if that makes sense. Great!

This photo looks really bright and lively. I like how the sign stands out from the background. The angle of the picture could have been done differently, though, because I feel that the sign should be more dominant in the picture.

The sign is very well placed in the picture and creates a leading line to the rest of the photo. Also the bump leads your eye out into the field and into the sky. The picture seems to be following the rule of thirds fairly well.

I love the angle the sign is at in this picture. The way this was taken seems to almost stretch the "BUMP" out father than it should. Good photo. SB SPHS

I like this photo. I like the placement and angle of the sign. I like the contrast of the yellow sign and the blue sky.

I like the giant bump sign in this picture. The colors are very crisp, especially the blue and yellow. The background goes very nicely with the photo, and all of the colors blend together very well. SL at SPHS

The way the sign seems to make a convex style goes well with the actual bump in the road.

I love the resolution of this picture. I also love the angle of this picture, and how it adds a line to the picture. By using this line it directs the viewer into looking in a direction.

The angle of the sign is really well done, almost like an illusion. However, I think the background could have been tampered with to be more appealing, but overall you did a nice job.

Love the contrast between the sing and pavement. It is a little humerus as well, not quite sure why tho.

The bright yellow of the sign vs. the black definitely catches your attention, and the background is interesting and allows your eyes to wonder.

I like the angle that the sign was captured at, I also like how vivid the colors are, it really creates a rich image. I like the implied lines created by the sign and road as well. And the line made by the trees against the sky.

This photo does a great job using perspective to create implied lines with the word "bump" and the speed bump. I like the clear color scheme, with mainly just blue, green, grey, and yellow. Also, good use of the rule of thirds to offset the sign in the foreground. Nice job! - AF SPHS
