Statues Fishing on a Sunny Day

Contributed by Ross Collier

I took this picture at Aldridge Gardens on the lake trail - which I highly suggest any and all people to go see sometime - while picking leaves for my dastardly Environmental Science project. I tried to emphasize the reflection in the picture. I ran an exposure layer over the picture and put a gradient over that.

Nice photo, I love the reflection. Good lighting, a little dark. The only problem I have is that it is very busy; my eys don’t know where to look first. Good rule of thirds, very peaceful mood.

This is an outstanding photo in many ways. I love all the reflections and different shapes in the water. It could be a bit lighter but not enough to complain. The green frog and sunny day almost forces you to smile!

This is an interesting photo. The reflection on the water really adds a nice peaceful tone to it. And how the statues are fishing is really neat. The darkness in the photo I think makes it look better.

This an AMAZING picture. The reflections in the water makes the picture for me. It's like there are two pictures in one. It's also crazy how clear and crisp the reflection is in the water. The froggy is also really cute :)-MC SPHS

This is almost like two photographs. You have the area surrounding the pond, which has a good contrast level, but then you also have the pond, which has a contrast of its own.

I really love this picture! the reflections in the water are really cool and it looks so clear like a mirror. i wish the picture was lighter though, but it's overall a great picture!

There isn't ever a photograph of yours that I don't love, Ross! The reflection is awesome, the subject is interesting, and the lighting, while dark, works amazingly for this photo. You did a really great job.

Dude, you always have amazing work. I really appreciate your pictures every time. The reflection aspect speaks for itself. It's very well done. I like how you caught the pond while it was "unperfect." It's not clear of leaves or pine needles or anything like that. That adds character to the picture as a whole. Good work.

I like this picture mostly because of the frog. I do like the reflections of shapes and light from the water. There's a lot going on and it is really good at keeping my attention.

I really like the reflection in this photo, it is very clear and better since you cannot see the original object being reflected. The lighting is a little off but still a nice blend of colors. Great Photo!

I love all the leading lines in this photo. The reflection of the trees is eye catching, especially since You'd expect the frog statue to have the reflection that stands out. But i also agree with the previous commenter on how busy the photo is; there are quite a variety of colors and other objects and that are distracting when locating the primary subject.Other than that, great job! :)

This photo flows together very nicely and is ironic in the fact that the frog is trying to catch fish.

Oh gosh! How beautiful of a shot this is! I adore the angle that you took on it, and if you edited it – which I’m assuming you did – you did a wonderful job doing so! The reflection in the water adds a great effect to the overall picture, and the shadows add an amazing contrast that makes the picture that much better. The focus is just right and everything is so clear! Not the mention the subject matter is adorable! Keep up the great work!

That environmental science project was quite dastardly but it was worth it because this is awesome!!! I love the reflections in the water and all of the colors. It's all really sort of surreal looking. Great Job!

This is an incredible photo, I love that the refection isn't in a perfectly round puddle, I love the contrast of the dark water and the green scenery. It looks like you really put a lot of thought and time into this picture. Great job.
