10/11 Photography Classes ~ "Q-tip"

Contributed by Mr. Myers

Last Wednesday, November 10th, I started a new project with my students.  Here they are, divided into classes, and in the order that I shot the pictures.  I gave each student one or more Q-tips to use as a prop, and I gave them two chances to get a good shot.  I really love how it turned out.  Now, it's up to the students to come up with an original artistic idea to use as a common element as they take pictures of all their classmates.  I will be posting these on another blog.

I really love how this picture turned out! The organization turned out perfect although it was in order. It's cool to see how everyone chose to use the q-tips!

I love the picture of all of us. I think just telling us to do what we want gives some kind of insight into each of our personalities. It turned out really well and I love that the pictures are all sort shaped togethers like a hat. -- AB SPHS

I love this, and I’m jealous because I probably wouldn’t have the patience to create it. It’s also a very creative idea.

I really enjoyed the Q-Tip idea. Who would have known that something so small could create such a great photo.I also love how everyone had a different idea with the Q-Tip.

I love how this looks. The black background makes portraits look great! And the simplicity of the layout works. It's awesome seeing everyone's personalities :)

I love this picture, because everyone is so different. It really shows different personalities! I wouldn't change a thing, because you're the teacher and you know what you're doing!

I really like this picture. The way the black background of the actual individual pictures and the black background of the whole picture makes the students stand out more. You did a great job with it.

This is really neat, Myers. I love how you can get everyone's style into one picture. This was a really good idea.

Very nice! I was a little concerned about how these photos would turn out because.. well.. I feel like people have a hard time being creative in the studio sometimes, but everyone did a pretty great job! My favorites are the two people who threw a handful of them up - especially the person who has both of their hands in the photo. It works really well.

Really like the idea of using the Q-tips as the subject with the whole class doing something different with them. Very neat idea! I think the picture came together very well. 
