Childs Play

Contributed by L. Farmer

I took this photograph when Mr. Myers assigned us to take pictures of children. I love it because there is so much emotion being expressed by the little boy. I didn't know him and he became a little shy when I approached him with the camera. He had a look on his face like, "Who are you and why are you taking my picture?" That's why he is kind of pulling away and hiding behind the fence. I also really like how the light hits him, it made great shadows.

Black & White is so excellent - expecially for portraits. This is lovely.

I love hands in portraits and this little fellow has some nice ones. They create a nice pattern of light and dark that really adds to the composition. Good work

This photograph truly is a job well done. Probably my favorite of all the student art I've seen this year.

Of all the things I could say none would explain how beautiful this photo is. The lighting is amazing, the tonality is brilliant, the subject is ctue, and the black and white seems to set everything in its right place. I can only wish to aspire to that.
