Untitled

Contributed by C Selman

This picture was taken at my boyfriends house. They had a trailer in their front yard because they're having construction done in their backyard. This is an interesting image, which was cropped down from a wider angled shot, showing more of the trailer on both the left and right sides. By cropping it, the eye moves much better on the chain than it does with the wide angle. The eye got lost off in the empty space in the top left and top right, as well as the bottom right corner. Also, the chain, mostly silver and a little rusted, contrasts well on the horizontal black beam. Again, cropping the image condensed how far the eye has to move throughout the piece, and the chain and bar are catalysts for such movement. Tell me what you think! =)

I like this image. Great eye movement for so few colors. Great explanation too. A +

For me, the biggest issue with this image is that the chain is the intended main focal point, and it's out of focus! Otherwise, the photo doesn't really work for me (sorry), but I'm curious to see what others think of it.

For some reason, the way that this image is cropped does not seem to work out for me. This is a good start, but I must agree with the previous comment that the photograph would look much better with the chain in good focus and the background blurred.

I do like your composition and I do think it moves your eye around well. I don't especially like the square cropping. I think I would crop it down from the top. I also agree that focus on the chain should be more crisp to maintain my attention.
