Untitled

Contributed by F Flanagan

I took this picture this past summer while I was in Idaho. it was mostly a hiking and rafting trip with fishing and stuff. but one day it was raining pretty bad and I was walking next to a river and I saw this really bright green leaf in the middle of all this dead pine straw and darker rocks. I took several shots of this trying to capture a good amount provided by the pine straw and the veins in the leaves and also trying not to blow out the leaf and this is what I ended up with. hope you enjoy it

You have captured a lot of texture in this photo and I like the contrasts between the jagged dark rocks and the smooth beads of moisture on the leaf. The angularity of the pine straw adds to the whole. Nice eye.

The rocks are really good for this picture, b/c the give some good contrast to the leaf. Then the leaf is a really good leaf and the water on the leaf is really cool.

Excellent photo! I just wish that the contrast was not overdone, and the waterdrops were not blown out. Detail in the water droplets would have REALLY put this one over the top. Otherwise, I really like it, and could see this as a nice fine art print.

This has to be one of my favorite shots so far. I love how the green leaf contrasts to the rest of the shot. I do wish that the droplets of water could have been toned down a little bit. The feeling of the shot is incredible.

This picture really caught my eye. I like the texture in this photo. Also, the contrasts between the rocks and the pine straws are very vivid. The rain drops help make the picture look moist. However, the rain drops are a little to bright and not realistic. Overall, great picture! -KS, SPHS
