I took this picture outside of my house. This is of the staircase leading to the porch. I thought that the staircase and the turns it made created a unique shot. The shadows on the rail-posts also helped the image out. Tell me what you think.

I enjoy the emotional response I get when viewing this image. The contrast, clashing linear elements, and tight composition all make me question what is going on at the top of the stairs.

Excellent!
I also concur, I think your photograph is extremely well composed, interesting and well balanced. The shot also has a nice range of values, going with b/w was a good decision. I like how the floor line of the upper deck continues the diagonal with the edge of the stairs.
This diagonal is then repeated by the handrail. This is one that I am really looking forward to printing.
I really like this composition the angles move your eyes around perfectly and the contrat of the vertical and diagonal lines and the bricks adds interest and depth. The rail coming towards the viewer along with slats on the upper left really achieves excellent perspective and balance. I really like the mood you created with the light. I dont know whether it was intended or not. I had to look hard for a criticism but I think you need to clone stamp out the brown spots in the bottom left quarter in the black negative space. Also I can tell you did a levels adjustment, but in some areas you lost detail: the diagonal board above the black in the bottom left and the ascending rail on the upper right hand side. Other than that I'd say leave it be.

a little dark....i just wish it was a TAD bit lighter. other than that i really like the composition and how my eye moves
I like this photo a lot - mostly the simplicity of it. Normally, it's not an interesting subject, but the composition and balance work great. I also don't think it would be a fraction as strong if it was in color. Honestly i don't have any suggestions - i think it's perfect. You could possibly color a piece of the picture with the opacity turned way down, but it doesn't by any means need it. Awesome!
