It was raining that day, hence the puddles. I took this photo for the Rule-of-Thirds assignment a couple of weeks ago. It was taken from the second floor of the school down into the courtyard. I also tried to fix the amount of noise (because it was taken from so far away).

Hence the Puddles

I like the shot, it could stand to have a little more depth though. The angle at which it was taken was very nice, it's just the colours are very boring. Towards the bottom of the tree my eye gets trickeed and it seems as if the tree is in the puddle and the rest of it is a reflection. I dont know if anyone else is seeing this, but it makes the photograph neat. I doubt you meant to do that though.

Nice observations, I definitely thought that the bottom left part of the image was doing some interesting things, I did not spot what you did. Nice effect. I think it is an overall elegant composition, very Japanese feeling. I do agree the color is a bit dull but it does seam right for the mood, you might try it in B/W, I think it has potential in b/w do to the nice play in values. I like how the sidewalk has a slight bow to it. Maybe it is the high camera angle that is making this mundane scene feel less forgettable. I like the shallow depth and wish the wall in the upper right was clone stamped into grass (as well as that bit-o trash in the middle. Great job Bomer...I knew you had it in you, and thanks Trey for a great opening comment.
That effect in the bottom left is really cool, but that small piece of trash in the middle catches my eye and leads away from it. Nice shot

I really like this! It's simple, yet conveys a gloomy response to viewers. Very nice composition.

There were things I liked and things I didn't about this piece. The reflective quality and the bowing of the sidwalk are very appealing, and although the palette is somber, it goes with the subject. However, I would have cropped out the post on the far left side - it distracts my eye. I also think there is a bit too much foreground below the tree - I'd have preferred to see more of the tree, perhaps. Nice work - keep at it.
i don't want to seem rude, but honestly, i really don't see what's special about this photograph. it's dull and nothing stands out at all. i don't see any effort put into this. i don't see any one subject that's meaningful. sorry, try harder.

it might just be b/c of the angle of this shot but the tree looks like its almost touching the bench an i think that looks pretty nice
