Closest Thing to Space

Contributed by K Stewart

This image was taken on a trip to Alabama Adventure (Visionland). I like this picture because of the angle and use of the canvas however I wish I had left a little bit of room on the right side of the image for a resting place. The blue of the Sky contrasts with the red and oranges on the ride. Out of all the pictures I took this one has the most unique composition and use of space.

I agree that the right side could use a little more sky but overall I like the photo. I especially like the color contrasts. I like the clarity of the spinning cars (though the closest car on the left looks slightly blurry). How could you have made it clearer?

I like the photo. I also would like to see more blue sky to the right of the ride. It looks exciting like a carnival ride should look.

kira, this is a phenominal photo. the angle that the rotating ride is at is quite impressive, the colors are impressive. only 2 things id say is that a larger d.o.f. would be great for this shot (or maybe a little less blur), and that is not the closest thing to space. : P

Great picture Kira! I love the bright and vibrant colors. It makes the picture feel alive. The only negative thing I could say about this is that I agree that the foremost cart is a little blurry. Very good job.

Most of the comments already have said what I thought when I looked at this piece. I really like the angle a lot, and the colors are very nice also. Just need a tad more blue sky on the top and right to frame those sides of the subject better. Nice!
