This is a shot I took early one morning at Montreat, North Carolina. We got up before sunrise and hiked to the top of the mountain right next to the camp. This picture was taken from to top of the mountain looking down into the camp as the sun rises behind.

A nice shot back down the mountain Wade. Your image could be better if you used a polarizing filter. This would help eliminate the haze in the distance and give a bit more detail in the sky. It is very difficult to capture the beauty that one sees from such places, perhaps a more panoramic shot would also help show more of the scope of what you saw in person.
I like this picture just because of the broad scope and the really large subject. The composition, with the plants in the foreground, the mountains behind those, and the sky completing the photograph. I just wish with this one that you could have gotten a little bit more intensity with the light of the sunrise on the mountains
