Shoal Creek

Contributed by B Murphey

This picture was taken at Shoal Creek Golf Course. I really focused on some certain techniques in particular such as framing and thirds. I used the tree to create the frame and placed the flowers at the one-third line. I really liked the composition of this shot too.

This is really pretty. I live the colors and the angle of the shot. Its a really nice shot. I like the crop of the photo too. Its a nice touch to it.

It is a well composed shot, you picked a nice vantage point behind the tree and your sky was good with the clouds and all...after helping you with the exposure problems I think that on your next attempt you should try to take several exposures (with your camera on a tripod) one for the sky, one for the trees and one for the foreground. Then make a composite in PS. Good effort.

very nice shot. I love how the tree and the bushes frame the far side of the lake. very well set up picture. the only thing that really catches my eye in a bad way is the upper left corner of the tree. It almost looks a little too light.

This is one of the better shots on the blog right now composition wise. I really like the way the ground and tree somewhat frame the background and it makes it look alot more interesting.

i enjoy the bottom of this picture, very vibrant and pleasing to the eyes. if you could somehow make the same size composition of just the flowers and lake, i would personally find it more appealing.

I really love this picture. The place it was taken looks very peaceful. This picture makes me feel relaxed. I think the trees and the clouds in the background really make the picture real. I also love the yellow and white wild flowers in the front they stand out in the picture really well. It’s the first thing my attention draws to in the picture. This is a great picture.

Awesome framing. I also love the colors in it.
